tebbadman or simooman

tebbad/simoom is a brutal low humidity (10% or less) wind so thick you cant even see through it and temperatures up to 140F. it is also called "fever wind"

tebbadman/simooman's special power is to blow a torrid of sand (conal shape) forward, catching all enemies in range on fire and binding them in place

this is my idea so far. unsure if i will actually sprite it or not. feel free to use it though if you cant think of anything

I was thinking about trying to go with some sort of robe to attach to his legs

then I thought "why not make it look like a wide skirt?"

then he became a UFO.

Well, this is what I have so far still working on the whole thing in general, but specifically the legs (as is apparent due to his lack of legs).

Before rest cycle update:

The arms became the legs, and now I need to figure out what to do for arms. Not sure if this is a good idea or not.

Are there any limits to the number of entries we can have?

Its Commodore 64C Man. After Commodore 64 acquired the massive monitor update, his measly keyboard stature was greatly improved. Thinking this new update would increase his popularity, it became clear that the monitor took over, and keyboard based hardware became obsolete. Commodore 64 finds himself taking the brunt of all attacks, as his monitor body insists on shooting him at those who dare oppose him.

Idle animation:

Edit:
Jomp

Nuke Man, a masive robot designed for the extremely dangerous task of protecting military convoys carrying nuclear weapons. Armed with a strong armor, several weapons such as misile launchers and an extra set of powerful arms.
Its said that if Nuke Man can't protect his cargo, he will either attempt to disarm or detonate it to prevent his enemies from taking it.

fun fact is, i read somewhere that Napalm Man was suposed to represent the vietnam war, in the same way Commando Man was meant to represent the gulf war. and Nuke Man would then asume the role of the cold war. heh
and both commando and napalm are placed on the exact same grid location.

BEHOLD THE EXISTANCE OF A NON 8-BIT MEGAMAN STYLE AND YELL BLASPHAMY!

Seriously though. I expected at least more variety in styles. And heated competition. Couldn't find the motivation for a mm8 style sprite myself though.

Realistically, I'm not expecting first place at all with this.

RE: burn's unscheduled, rounded up pixel art challenge #100 - Cobalt Blue - 08-25-2010

i was just that lazy to make any other more elaborated style to be honest.

although, its been a while since these challenges are for anything but fun/amusement, not like you'd "win" anything.

That last jumping animation was piss poor.
I revisited it, here's a better one:

RE: burn's unscheduled, rounded up pixel art challenge #100 - StarSock64 - 08-25-2010

I kind of wanted to do this but I didn't get started 'til today so I probably won't finish in time. Plus I picked The Power Fighters style

and I'm extra retarded at its weird color choice and shading. Maybe I'll just post its progress in my topic some other time.
