What with this having not really much with developing a game just yet, I'm gonna go move this to S. Discussion for you; so you can get your spriting style right.

Also might I suggest working entirely in 1x size for now and only enlarging it to show detail? Then you won't accidentally sub-pixel anything.

Well, I just have a couple of suggestions on the design as well:

Game Boys have a slight indent around the A/B buttons, so I would either add shading on the area above the buttons, or have a lighter shade on tthe area below.

Also, the Select/Start buttons are usually at an angle, and it needs speaker lines. However that's just my opinion.
