french and italian are actually closer than french and spanish

mhhh perhaps on paper but i don't understand it as well for some reason, and i'm fluent in french :/

maybe, i just remember looking up a lot of translations for words one time and if there were any special usage rules the french and italian translations would follow a similar template and the spanish would be doing its own thing more often than not, so i assumed;

in that aspect yes, i agree with you. i was thinking more of the cognates!
ex: "i will miss you" (eng.) "te echaré de menos" (sp.) and "tu vas me manquer" (fr.) "mi mancherai" (ita.)
