RE: Mario In Sonic 1 - Iceman404 - 09-04-2010 Your Monitor? RE: Mario In Sonic 1 - StarSock64 - 09-04-2010 WOW Paint just froze and I just lost a bunch of TUGS work oh my god Fffffffffffff!!! Big step backwards unnggh Anyway I did more of an edit than I meant to. You should feel more free to make bigger changes than you seem to RE: Mario In Sonic 1 - Maneko - 09-04-2010 800x600 21" flat screen with crispy, non squished images like could happen if I had a Plasma monitor instead. So no, it's not my monitor's fault at all, Iceman. (09-03-2010, 11:06 PM)Iceman404 Wrote: What? Your criticism is a bit invalid there. And I knew I had to expect something like this, but I admit I didn't expected to get it right off the bat. RE: Mario In Sonic 1 - Iceman404 - 09-04-2010 You put him in a COMPLETE 4/4 view. The only think that is close to 4/4 on Sonic: is his head, while you can still see his entire body and his torso is facing the camera almost completely. @Maneko: I never changed the body shape at all. RE: Mario In Sonic 1 - StarSock64 - 09-04-2010 I tried that with the body because VS suggested it their heads are now indeed at the same angle, however... (he looked fatter because eyes were farther apart=way of looking at him changes=optical illusions) RE: Mario In Sonic 1 - Iceman404 - 09-04-2010 (09-04-2010, 12:26 AM)StarSock64 Wrote: (he looked fatter because eyes were farther apart=way of looking at him changes=optical illusions) Oh, now I see it. RE: Mario In Sonic 1 - Maneko - 09-04-2010 Mario's nose looks a bit too big as well. (It looks like a tomato glued to his face, actually) How about if you examine Somari's sprites or these Genesis Mario hacks for visual references? RE: Mario In Sonic 1 - Cobalt Blue - 09-04-2010 why do you insist on the same exact problem: you're trying to make a mario-looking sonic instead of making mario in sonic's 1 style. what worked on the original sprite won't work on something thats not two balls and a bunch of noodle limbs. RE: Mario In Sonic 1 - Iceman404 - 09-04-2010 (09-04-2010, 12:30 AM)Francisco Cifuentes Wrote: why do you insist on the same exact problem: you're trying to make a mario-looking sonic instead of making mario in sonic's 1 style. That's kinda what we discussed on the first page with the proportions and all, but the reason I kept him fat/chubby and short is because that's the way Mario is. (Like you said.) Right now, its just the perspective issues. But I guess this works for now?: EDIT: I tried a smaller nose. It didn't work out and made his chin look terrible in the process. RE: Mario In Sonic 1 - Maneko - 09-04-2010 I think you are confusing "Chubby" with "Fat". Mario is chubby, Master Higgins is fat and your Mario is, as I already said many times, fat and shaped like an egg, which he shouldn't look like. RE: Mario In Sonic 1 - Iceman404 - 09-04-2010 Then give an example of what you'd make it look like. So I can see what you mean. RE: Mario In Sonic 1 - Maneko - 09-04-2010 This is your thread and these are your sprites. You do the edits, not me. Not wanting to fix your mistakes for you doesn't means my point is invalid, as I've noticed you have been trying to from the beginning. RE: Mario In Sonic 1 - Cobalt Blue - 09-04-2010 actually, go ahead maneko, show us an edit. RE: Mario In Sonic 1 - thernz - 09-04-2010 On an entirely different point, I think you shouldn't detail the soles of his shoes. My reasoning is that the extra detail gives his shoes unneeded attention compared with the relative lack of detail or texture on the rest of the sprite. |
