RE: Oracle Placement In Zelda Timeline - Goemar - 07-31-2008 I believe the child story joins the adult story when Link grows up. The hero of time never showed up to defeat Gannon (aka WW) because he was simply dead of old age. You can't say it does. Because it doesn't Except immediate sequels nothing was planned to fit together so stop speaking like it's fact. I'm all for theories but that's all they are: theories. RE: Oracle Placement In Zelda Timeline - Zee - 07-31-2008 Fine, time for batshit theories. OoT -> MM -> TP -> Wind Waker -> Minnish Cap -> Lttp -> links Awakening -> Loz 1 -> Loz 2 -> Oracle Games This is mine based on the maps. The first Ocarina of Time starts it off, as this is the story that has the creation story about the three goddesses, the future games never mention that story in entirety, therefore it has been lost to time. As such, OoT is the first game. Manipulating Time, the Adult Link never has to be because Gannon was sealed away. Link looks for Navi and stumbles into the woods of MM. He solves the problems there, come back through the same woods to the normal world. Then after that Twilight Princess comes along, mentioning how Gannondorf got out of the seal, raised hell, and again paralell world and creation myth, slightly skewed this time. Great flood hapens, cleansing the world, we have the Toon Link Saga, and they stay close together as Zelda games goes. Link to the Past again sends link through time, but the world has recovered pretty well since the flood. Then we go onto Links adventure to the island, outside of some cataclysmic event because when he comes back to Hyrule, it's been destroyed and towns are gone. Things proceed to the LoZ 2 game and we have towns again, people have recovered. And finally, we go to the Oracle games which have very well developed towns. See, anybody can make a batshit theory. Fact it, it doesn't matter, enjoy the game, and have fun. RE: Oracle Placement In Zelda Timeline - silent sniper - 07-31-2008 wait, so if all of these games are related in timeline, then how does link keep coming back? Reincarnation? Or just a new kid who by prophecy is called Link or something? Damn this is confusing. About to Watch AVGN zelda timeline video EDIT; whoa, AVGN's video really opened it up! I'ma do some reading and playing and form my own theory. This is interesting. Although, I would really like to think of each as just completely unrelated in storyline, and that they are just a mans *coughmiyamotocough* constant jumbled up confused mess of a retelling each time. RE: Oracle Placement In Zelda Timeline - Goemar - 07-31-2008 Wow Latios just gave me a negative rep for "not knowing much about the Zelda timeline" That is really really lame. Many take it that it's a different Link and different Zelda. This was first present when LttP came out as the game told you it had Link and Zelda's predecessors in it. It's also obvious in WW with Zelda not knowing she's Zelda and so on and so on. In Zelda 2 we are told Zelda has been a sleep for a crap long time so that's obviously a different Zelda than the one in the original game. Basically it's kinda obvious there's more than one Link and all that. And yeah, AVGN has a great video to watch if your new to all this crazy crap. Zee isn't that Epona at the start of the Oracle games though? RE: Oracle Placement In Zelda Timeline - DioShiba - 07-31-2008 Zee Wrote:Fine, time for batshit theories. Wait then how the hell did Phantom Hourglass happen or was that something else? RE: Oracle Placement In Zelda Timeline - Alpha Six - 07-31-2008 phantom hourglass is probably tied in with the wind waker story RE: Oracle Placement In Zelda Timeline - Fireshock - 08-01-2008 Diogalesu Wrote:spoiler:Zee Wrote:Fine, time for batshit theories. it was just a dream RE: Oracle Placement In Zelda Timeline - Zee - 08-01-2008 Goemar Wrote:Wow Latios just gave me a negative rep for "not knowing much about the Zelda timeline" On the first part, he's been warned for the abuse. On the second, heck if I know, I haven't played the oracle games in nigh on 6 years. My point was, and Phantom Hourglass didn't feel like a Zelda game so I omitted it (that and I haven't played it yet), anybody can make any timeline they want about anything for the Zelda games and all will be right. With the exception of the direct sequels. (Oot->Majora's Mask type stuff) RE: Oracle Placement In Zelda Timeline - Goemar - 08-01-2008 Hourglass is pretty much confirmed that it's the same Link from WindWaker. I tried playing Hourglass, it felt kinda Zeldaish but once I put it down the game never really made me pick it up again. RE: Oracle Placement In Zelda Timeline - Latios999 - 08-01-2008 Goemar Wrote:Wow Latios just gave me a negative rep for "not knowing much about the Zelda timeline" Um... You basicaly denied Facts that have been confermed by nintendo. That's why I gave you a Negitive. I'm sorry and all that (zee caught me), but the time line dose split and if the horse is Epona, it my be a reincarnation of her, like in TP, where it's a different link from OoT. RE: Oracle Placement In Zelda Timeline - Koopaul - 08-01-2008 Phantom Hourglass takes place right after Wind Waker, it says it in the game, Tetra's there, the pirates, everything! RE: Oracle Placement In Zelda Timeline - Goemar - 08-01-2008 THERE IS NO OFFICIAL TIME LINE. So saying it DOES split is just your opinion. No overall time line exist! And yes Hourglass is straight after Wind Waker, as it's a immediate sequel. RE: Oracle Placement In Zelda Timeline - Sonikku - 08-01-2008 I just follow a timeline depending on the storylines; A Link to the Past Minish Cap Legend of Zelda Four Sword Adventures Ocarina of Time (Child) Majora's Mask Oracle of Seasons Oracle of Ages Adventure of Link? Ocarina of Time (Adult) Twilight Princess Wind Waker Phantom Hourglass RE: Oracle Placement In Zelda Timeline - Goemar - 08-01-2008 Adventure of Link officially follows on from the original Zelda. Note: Zelda 2 is it's title. RE: Oracle Placement In Zelda Timeline - Ngamer01 - 08-02-2008 If there isn't a timeline then no Zelda game would have referenced other games in the series. And that would make Zelda be like Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy has 12 main games (spin-offs don't count). And none of them are connected with each other except for certain names of places, items, spells/summons, people, and races. |
