RE: GN'R Slash Sprite/and other things - brandman1996 - 05-28-2011

Well the updated slash sprite is gonna take a little bit... soooo I'm gonna put this here for cc for the time being. It doesn't deserve a whole new thread so I'm just adding it here.

I didn't get the animation just quite right (goes to right and back to left midway through animation) but after putting a solid hour into making it, I'm not gonna fix it, plus it serves it's main purpose, showing the sprite animated in it's idle pose. I'd thank anyone graciously if they'd like to fix it for me but otherwise it's staying like that.

You really need to learn to animate, because you can't have someone doing it for you every step of the way.
Might be too fast, but Beneton doesn't animate too well.

basically, you need to mark the static points of your sprite sheet.

You pasted the frames randomly in your gif, which makes Charmander to slide to the sides. You know that Charmander is supposed to be still, so keep the feet in the same place for all the animation, like Key did. This will give you quality animations.

Thanks guy's. I realized what I did wrong after the fact but had already put too much into the first animation to start over again, and the fact I was getting ready to do something else, so it ended up like that. I'm going to reanimate now, Later today I'll start finishing up the slash sprite. Anyways until then anyone's free to give cc on the charmander sprite.

Add more variation in your animation. Its tail is moving but its body is completely static. Maybe have it bob up and down. Make it move naturally with its tail. If you look up some videos of Charmander in Pokemon Stadium, you might get some ideas on how to animate the little sucker!

RE: GN'R Slash Sprite/and other things - Key - 05-29-2011

He could possibly move his arms up and down, too.

He kinda already does bob up and down. 'Bout midway.

Okay, I was wanting not do do this as I didn't want to copy the animations, but sure. I can just see how to make the animations more "fluid" and "realistic" and such.

I was gonna do that originally, but scratched it out. Okay.

RE: Slash & Charmander - Garamonde - 05-31-2011

I'd like to see Charmander's mouth open a bit while it's moving its arms, then when it stops it'll close its mouth.

That's a very nice sprite and Key's anim. fix did it much justice. Tongue

because sprite editing is the way to ignore a shitty attemp to demostrate how entitled you are to call other's work "shitty".

What do you think? I wanna be the first to make some black ops sprites. I know they look like the game maker generic guy, but i dunno. What do you think?

What the fuck is this doing here.

Add to the fact they look quite shitty.
