RE: Dynasty Warriors Series - Vipershark - 08-07-2011 I have DW3 through DW5 (including expansions) I got pretty annoyed that they were all essentially the exact same story and missions, just with a fresh coat of paint on each Edit: really wanna get the DW Gundam games though RE: Dynasty Warriors Series - TomGuycott - 08-07-2011 Word of advice for DW Gundam, VS: You might want to try before you buy, particularly for the first one. Ultimately the first one (in my opinion) has an inferior combat engine. Unlike traditional Dynasty Warriors games where you get like 6 different hits that you can chain into a heavy attack, you only get 3 that repeat a second time, which I found lame. The second changed that though, and also consider the roster of playable suits in each too. Or just get all three, I'm sure the first, maybe even the second one are cheaper now. RE: Dynasty Warriors Series - TomGuycott - 08-09-2011 Alright, I read a bit about DWG3 and decided to buy it on whim, and I am very, very satisfied. Hands down my favorite in the series in terms of gameplay. Not gonna say much because I'm playing right now, but here are the features I like a lot: -SP attacks in the air (I forget whether that was previously featured, I probably just forgot about it). -Inclusion of Gato, Duo, Trowa, Treize and their mobile suits. -Slightly simplified development and license system. (I found the development for parts in 2 to be convoluted). -Little details like the Wing Gundams being smaller than most of the other Mobile Suits (I believe it was at least IMPLIED in Wing that their generation of suits were smaller than previous ones, hence Talgeese, an older suit, was bigger). -A refilling lifebar (Basically a lot like MvC where it depletes an amount permanently and the rest can recharge). You can still pick up life powerups to heal, and it's worthwhile given the next point, but Ace Pilots in the enemy team can regen too. -Enemies are a bit smarter and stronger even on easier modes. One of my favorite features is that if one enemy is gearing to do a leaping or charging attack, all the enemies of the same type around him will suddenly jump WITH him, and it took me completely by surprise when five Doms tried to jump me. -You have a gauge to call in a partner. Basically every pilot character you can play as can be called, you choose one before going into battle, and they perform a strong attack LIKE their SP attacks, but not always like them. For example, Duo performs this spinning tornado slash, and none of his SP attacks including standard, air and team do that. However: -Some characters are carried over almost exactly as they were in DWG2, (but then again why fix it if it isn't broken?) -No Wing mass produced Mobile Suits like Leo, Taurus, etc. -No additional G Gundam Suits (Additional characters and pilots though) -Some music recycled from DWG1 and 2. Still not memorable. I should also note that the "main" mode of this one is another "What if?" kind of universe where they all end up in an alternate dimension for some reason. They do have History Missions which play out actual anime events (probably just 0079 events, but it might get 0082 or whatever that one was with Kou and Gato). Lots of other side missions to do, but ultimately they are just randomized sets of maps and enemies. Basically if you replay one you'll get something totally different, but it will still abide by the parameters of the mission (All Classic Gundam characters in one, all Wing in another, for example). So basically it's what I pretty much expected, I'm having a lot of fun with it (Especially Talgeese II and Gato's Gundam, they're beasts). Gonna go play more now. RE: Dynasty Warriors Series - Maxpphire - 08-10-2011 Well at least their alliances make sense in this game RE: Dynasty Warriors Series - Cobalt Blue - 08-10-2011 speaking of gundam fights, wondering how many people on this board knows this game RE: Dynasty Warriors Series - TomGuycott - 08-10-2011 Alright, hands down with gameplay alone DWG3 is the best in the series. With the additional suits, the gameplay and moveset tweaking, the partner assists, it's just so much fun. I can't stop playing. Also that game looks awesome Metaru. RE: Dynasty Warriors Series - Maxpphire - 08-11-2011 Unicorn Gundam, best Gundam 2012 RE: Dynasty Warriors Series - Ixbran - 08-18-2011 Yay for people enjoying the DW Games! *flails happily* RE: Dynasty Warriors Series - Kage Kazumi - 08-20-2011 I only liked the Tactics game that came out (i think) for the PS2. I could not get into them. I even bought DW7 and for being a PS3 game I felt it to be very cheaply made. I ended up trading it in. RE: Dynasty Warriors Series - Maxpphire - 08-20-2011 Try playing DW: Gundam 3, you will not be disappointed at all. What's funny is when I was buying DW7 I was debating between DWG as well, but went with DW7 which turned out to be a mistake. RE: Dynasty Warriors Series - LuXun - 08-26-2011 I played almost every game of the DW series... except for the first one and one of the xtreme legends one. Liked even Musou Orochi as well as Samurai Warriors! Thats my kind of game lol One thing that bothers me is that they kicked some characters out of the series and now bringing some of them back...*drop* RE: Dynasty Warriors Series - Shawn - 09-01-2011 http://i.imgur.com/xFcVD.jpg the next anime musou game i need a ps3 now |
