RE: New 3DS attachment for dual Slidepads and potential 3DS hardware redesign - Gors - 09-07-2011 the problem isn't how much it will cost, but more like they releasing something that should have been in the actual console from the start and they're charging for it. That's a bad move no matter how good the addition is. RE: New 3DS attachment for dual Slidepads and potential 3DS hardware redesign - Alpha Six - 09-07-2011 Actually, it shouldn't have been on the console at all without reworking the entire control format. Its current placement looks wonky, unintuitive, and ultimately frustrating to use. I can't see how the stick would even come into play in a game unless you used literally ONLY the stick and avoided the buttons entirely. I'm sure it can't cost THAT MUCH, and it'd make certain games more playable, as well as the options for more kind of games. I guess I'm a small minority though. Well I suppose it would help with my lefty issue in Kid Icarus Uprising. How are they expecting lefties to handle that game anyway? Lefty bro's UNITE O/ RE: New 3DS attachment for dual Slidepads and potential 3DS hardware redesign - Woppet* - 09-07-2011 I try so hard to still love Nintendo like I did as a child but they make it so fucking hard. Nintendo will always have a place in my heart, but it's reserved for old Nintendo. As far as I'm concerned right now, Nintendo is dead. (Well, just until SS comes out) RE: New 3DS attachment for dual Slidepads and potential 3DS hardware redesign - Helmo - 09-07-2011 what is SS (Skyward Sword -Woppet) the 3ds was like "whoa sam this thing will be the bomb" and then I was like "oh nevermind this is all rather disapointing" RE: New 3DS attachment for dual Slidepads and potential 3DS hardware redesign - DioShiba - 09-07-2011 I don't even know why this was needed. I understand that the 3ds isn't selling well but this? come on nintendo, why the fuck would you need to make an attachment when you could at least wait a month or two to release one Mario game? EDIT: On the brighter side of things to this it might add extended battery life for the console, but I still have my doubts it will sell. In all honesty as a fan of nintendo this was an idiotic thing to do, the only thing this will do is serve as another collector's add-on. It's just foolish. RE: New 3DS attachment for dual Slidepads and potential 3DS hardware redesign - Sol - 09-07-2011 Held off on buying a 3DS for exactly a case like this. They said they weren't going to pull a DS Lite for awhile, but I guess no one is going to go right out and say "a newer version will be out in a year" What a stupid move, I was irritated by the Wii Motion Plus when it came out for the same reason. It just feels so disrespectful to the consumer... There's no way to win, either you pay extra money for something that should've been there in the first place, or you miss out. I'm not going to call Nintendo a bunch of supervillains, I mean, they lowered the price of the 3DS and gave early buyers free games, but one wonders if they wouldn't just drop the price anyway when this supposed new version comes out. :/ Nobody wins. I guess in the end it is cool that there'll be an opportunity for expanded controls. Eh... Edit: Unless it ends up being fake, in which case who cares RE: New 3DS attachment for dual Slidepads and potential 3DS hardware redesign - Cobalt Blue - 09-07-2011 (09-07-2011, 05:57 PM)Gors Wrote: the problem isn't how much it will cost, but more like they releasing something that should have been in the actual console from the start and they're charging for it. RE: New 3DS attachment for dual Slidepads and potential 3DS hardware redesign - Gors - 09-08-2011 thing is they didn't release gameboy and then release a third additional but important button for it right after the console's release. RE: New 3DS attachment for dual Slidepads and potential 3DS hardware redesign - Omegajak - 09-08-2011 Nintendo releases new DS with a bad start up. Drops Price 3-4 months later. Gives early adopters free games to compensate, no one is getting a cash bonus this year. Megaman Legends 3 get's cancelled, Orcarania of Time 3D is the only other game to really buy if you don't already own Street Fighter. New Peripheral rumor turns out to more stranger than fiction. September is here first week almost done, still just Street Fighter and new/old Zelda. ~Reasons Omegajack doesn't buy a product 2011. RE: New 3DS attachment for dual Slidepads and potential 3DS hardware redesign - Gwen - 09-08-2011 Starfox 64.... and Shinseigami Devil survivor overclocked.. RE: New 3DS attachment for dual Slidepads and potential 3DS hardware redesign - Dazz - 09-08-2011 Yeah, I'm not regretting not buying a 3DS. Nintendo have really bollocksed everything up since the Wii. I mean, the Wii was alright, then they stopped making games for it... Then released 200 peripherals that they make one game for each, then make the Motion Plus, then controllers with included motion plus... Then they made the DSi. Then the DSiXL. Then the 3DS. And now this? Seriously, it seems to me Nintendo go "Oh! That's a good idea, we should have done that. Let's just make people pay for something extra so we can have that." - I mean, that's fine, except it doesn't fit, and on top of that, it'll probably cost more than you'd have paid for it if the technology came with the console in the first place. Fuck this.
