I take it that one Sailor Moon PC game is someone's fangame, or something? That would explain how odd the sprites are...
(EDIT: Ah, so it's an OpenBoR-based fangame. Either way, what the heck does that game have to do with Sailor Moon, anyway, other than the main characters...? Sheesh, fangames are becoming weirder and weirder, it seems.)

In any case, those who developed the game made the right choice. New enemies sprites fit well into the atmosphere of the game, so the place to be here.
I have seen many of these games, but half of them are not given a good implementation. but the implementation of the platform blew Sailormoon on your PC - a successful idea. Remember even the Kingdom Hearts

Small hint: If you ever want to get the full sprites without overlayed effects, I suggest vSNES. Just import a quicksave into it, go to scene viewer (mowgli symbol in the upper task bar) and delete the single pieces of the sfx.
It also helps against screentone, ripple effects, mode 7 and so on.

. The effects go along with the animation sprites
