RE: Snivy animations - Garamonde - 04-11-2012 Pffff that figures. I'm so slow. RE: Snivy animations - Speed-X - 04-12-2012 Okay, so I'm working on the running animation. Thoughts so far? ...Oh, that reminds me that I should probably give the tail some extra movement... RE: Snivy animations - Gors - 04-12-2012 make the body turn according tothe feet movement, and make the body+head structure less rigid. RE: Snivy animations - Speed-X - 04-12-2012 Unsure of how I'll be able pull that off as of now, but thank you! I'll see what I can do. RE: Snivy animations - Speed-X - 04-12-2012 Okay, I have a legitimate question: how would I make Snivy's torso move along with its running if it has such a simple body type? If someone could help shed some light on that, I'd be really greatful. ^^; But for now, I have the tail moving. Edit: Wait. I think I might get it now. Okay, which one looks better? RE: Snivy animations - Garamonde - 04-12-2012 The one on the right definitely. RE: Snivy animations - The KKM - 04-13-2012 The impression of the moving torso could probably be achieved by moving his shoulders and shoulder...pads? as if they were on a moving torso. EDIT: Though you managed it fine on that right one. RE: Snivy animations - Gors - 04-13-2012 one thing that I'd like to add is: you have a fine run anim right there. But why not make it better? Snivy is a snake pokemon, so represnt it not only in the visuals, but the animation too. Make it lean more forward while running, it kind of looks lazy to reuse the same body shape over and over. RE: Snivy animations - Speed-X - 04-13-2012 Time lord: thanks. Hopefully ill get around to adding the arms either tonight or tomorrow. Goes: but of course! That's why I have it posted up here after all, to improve it. XD Anyway, that sounds great; ill try that once I get home from school. RE: Snivy animations - Speed-X - 04-13-2012 Whew! That took me a good half-an-hour at least. Look any better at all? :> By the way, I just want to really thank everyone for your criticisms / help. Even the smallest tip goes a long way! Just so you know I don't take that for granted. Oh, and all the post thanks, too. Added the tail leaves! Something feels off about them, though. Gonna work on the arms now. RE: Snivy animations - Jamuk - 04-14-2012 I think the tail leaves look too manic they distract the eye from the rest of the sprite. I'd be tempted to make them move just slightly less. RE: Snivy animations - Garamonde - 04-14-2012 Or slow the tail's animation down. Both could work. RE: Snivy animations - Speed-X - 07-21-2012 Wow, it's been a while since I've really posted any of my stuff here at all. While I haven't been working on those animations--or any animations at all, really--I've been working on a different approach to non-iso pixel art. I've also been doodling up some chibi versions of some Pokemon. The original Deerling and Sawsbuck ones I made took the approach of "lineart first, then color / shade it in." Just the other day I read a tutorial, and it explained the method of just blocking in shapes and making your way from there pretty extensively. While I've tried that method time and time before, I decided to give it another shot. I took a less cartoony approach for the Venipede and Deino, and while it contradicts the cute, chibi feel in a way, I actually ended up kinda liking the slight irony in this approach. Starting with the Deerling, I originally did want to make an idle animation for it, but after a while I really wasn't sure how the animation would look. Hahahah, okay. So in the end, I don't really know what exactly I'm getting at. I guess just wanting to know what you guys think. About the Venipede and Deino, I mean. RE: Snivy animations - Previous - 07-21-2012 Dude, I like them! Venipod looks great. I think some reflection on the eye would look good. The mouths of the deer look a bit weird, as if ther lower jaws were seperated pieces. RE: Snivy animations - Garamonde - 07-21-2012 Welcome back, girl! I see you're just as refined in your spriting skills as ever. |
