RE: puggsoy's Sound Submissions - Garamonde - 06-02-2012 It's not that I want you to do more work, I just feel that if not all of the characters have non-microgame voice clips then they should all be done that way. Also because I don't know what I would title the extra section (plus it seems to make more sense just to have all their sounds in one .ZIP if you know what I mean). Otherwise, I don't mind waiting if you're able to do them like that. I think it'd be overall better in the long run. RE: puggsoy's Sound Submissions - puggsoy - 06-03-2012 That's cool then, I'll get onto that. It's probably not that much work, the hardest part will be finding out which characters do and don't have extra sounds. RE: puggsoy's Sound Submissions - puggsoy - 06-06-2012 Right, I got the extra voices from Ashley and Mike. I'm almost 100% sure those are all, I can't find any more, I was probably mistaken about Jimmy T. I've uploaded the new files, relinked the links in my other post. I've reuploaded all the characters, not only Ashley and Mike, to keep consistent with the new folder organization in the .zips, so be sure to get those too. By the way, keep in mind that these are only the voices of the game's main characters. There are a few other voices, but they're all rather insignificant and the owners aren't really named. Some of them are in minigames too. I might do them another time, but when that time comes I'll probably just put them all into a single .zip and then give each character a folder within. RE: puggsoy's Sound Submissions - Garamonde - 06-06-2012 Okie, I'll try to get them soon! RE: puggsoy's Sound Submissions - puggsoy - 06-22-2012 All Sounds Braid (PC/Computer, XBox 360) - Added 22/6/2012 This was a piece of cake, pie, and any other tasty pastry. All the sounds were in one folder, and although 8 of them were .ogg files (quickly converted with my program), the remaining 188 were all .wavs, ready to go. These are from the PC version, although I'm assuming that they're similar for XBox version. To be honest the only differences I think would be present is controls and control-specific images and text. I mean, the XBox images are even present in the PC version, so all files are probably found in both versions. So yeah, I'd recommend putting it for both PC/Computer and Other Systems. By the way, would you like me to check if there are different files in the Mac and Linux versions? I have the Humble Bundle so I could try and check if you like, but if it's unneeded I won't bother. I'd expect them to be the same anyway. RE: puggsoy's Sound Submissions - Garamonde - 06-22-2012 That'd be cool if you did check. c: And uh, for any staff members reading this, sorry for slacking off in my sound uploads. I've just been busy with my own stuff like trying to get back into spriting and whatever. I'll try to start catching up again soonish. RE: puggsoy's Sound Submissions - Garamonde - 06-24-2012 WarioWare: All up! Fallout: It took a long time but I've got them all up in both sections now. Braid: I'll just wait until you've checked the other version/s before I upload this. RE: puggsoy's Sound Submissions - puggsoy - 06-25-2012 I checked the Braid sounds for the Mac and Linux versions, and from what I can see they're pretty much just direct ports. The the packaging (due to the different platform of course) is about the only difference I can see, but all the resources look exactly the same, even in terms of folder structure. I didn't extract them and check every sound file individually, but I looked into the archives and the names, extensions, and locations are identical to the PC's. I can hardly see a reason to change them anyway. So yeah, they're the same RE: puggsoy's Sound Submissions - Garamonde - 06-25-2012 Thanks for checking! It's up now. By the way, I just asked Dazz, and he said the sounds themselves may have minor changes between versions of games so I'm not going to upload them to anything but the specific version they were ripped from anymore and will not keep Braid in Other Systems. We agreed that if someone wants the sounds in the other version's section, then they'll have to rip the files specifically from said version. I'll keep the Fallout copies up though because GrimmJeel never confirmed if they were from the PC or XBox/etc. version. RE: puggsoy's Sound Submissions - puggsoy - 06-25-2012 Ah, OK. While that's perfectly understandable for the XBox version, I can say with 99% certainty that the Mac and Linux sounds are the same. By the way, how does the fact if the Mac and Linux sounds are/aren't the same effect the upload of the files? Are there some Mac or Linux sections or what? RE: puggsoy's Sound Submissions - Garamonde - 06-25-2012 You don't have to worry about Mac and Linux since it's all under PC, it's just when it has other versions on XBox or PS3 and so on, there may be small differences so it's best to just keep it under the version you ripped them from. If someone ever rips the XBox ones then I'll add them to Other Systems. RE: puggsoy's Sound Submissions - puggsoy - 08-26-2012 General Sounds 1/2 General Sounds 2/2 Goo Ball Sounds Movie Sounds World of Goo (PC/Computer) -26/8/2012 It's been a while I thought I'd done these already, but apparently not. I'd already converted the sounds to WAV files earlier but for some reason I left them sit there, so I just chucked them into archives. You'll notice that the Level Sounds are less than a megabyte, that's because there is in fact only a single file. However I wasn't sure where else to put it while still making sense, so I just left it in it's own archive. If you want me to put it elsewhere just say so. EDIT: Also spiced up the thread title RE: puggsoy's Sound Booth - Garamonde - 08-26-2012 Wow, just one file? Well, I'd put it in the first General Sounds archive in its own folder labeled Level Sounds since it literally makes no sense having a single sound file as a submission. RE: puggsoy's Sound Booth - puggsoy - 08-27-2012 I thought about that too. The reason I thought to keep it is because the resources are laid out like this: World of Goo/res/balls World of Goo/res/levels World of Goo/res/movies World of Goo/res/sounds So for example the "worldofgoo-gooballsounds" archive is basically the "balls" directory, but it only includes folders with sounds in it. Anyway, if I were to put the level sounds with general sounds, some people might think that in the actual game, they're located in the "sounds" folder. But then again I guess whole archive for a single file is probably weirder Anybody who has the access to the actual files probably won't download these anyway. Anyway, I put the level sounds into General Sounds 1/2, updated the link. RE: puggsoy's Sound Booth - Garamonde - 08-27-2012 Yeah, it's just better this way. That said, they are now on TSoR for others to enjoy. |
