Though I guess you'd know more about what they do in this game as you made the extraction tool. That's a spot on description of how the format works. As for the rips, I saw how they're being organized, but I don't like how they're being combined to a ridiculously big image, having transparency removed, and becoming more difficult to use and look through. If you insist on having sections for each I would prefer if you could keep the game's organization and separation of sprites. RE: Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?! All sprites - Dazz - 12-07-2012 The transparency removal makes sense IMO... Having it transparent means that it is not longer copy-paste able, and people who only have paint can't use them at all. Removing the coloured background for somebody who can use the transparency is a 2 second job. Adding a colour for somebody who doesn't have the ability to use transparency is impossible. As for combining; The site would be extremely poorly organised if we had "Ice King 1, Ice King 2, Ice King 3, Ice King 4" as seperate sheets; Imagine that being the case for all the sheets on the site! RE: Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?! All sprites - Goemar - 12-07-2012 Could always sheet-em and also put a zip/rar file up as well for people who want to grab the whole lot. And great work man, getting a program up and working for a 'un-rippable' game this fast is just mind blowing. RE: Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?! That explains why I didn't find nothing when I was checking for graphics as I was expecting some more "normal" (for the DS) 4bpp or 8bpp indexed colour graphics... Heh. I think I'd have noticed the block compression if I had considered that possibility >< RE: Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?! All sprites - Carpaccio - 12-07-2012 Oh my goodness...this is amazing! I'm...I'm so happy! I think ym heart just exploded from joy except I'm still alive! Thank you so much for this, it saves a lot of time and trouble. Also, I noticed that the Cosmic Owl seems to be missing from the pack. Is there a reason, or am I just not seeing it? RE: Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?! All sprites - Garamonde - 12-07-2012 Erm, I don't understand what Ton or whoever wants to do or is going to do now... Can't we just have all of each character's (or two, dpending on if they're related) sprites in their own archives, like Finn/Jake in their own thing, Ice King in his own thing, and I guess NPCs, and items, and what have you in their own things. Isn't that organized enough...? But it looks Dazz is strongly against having the transparency in the sheets so I guess someone will have to fix them to be magenta or something...? As long as the boxes stay intact it's all good. RE: Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?! All sprites - A.J. Nitro - 12-07-2012 I'm not really a fan of zipped files unless they're absolutely needed. Since most of the enemies have few poses, I think they should be all on one sheet. RE: Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?! All sprites - Ecking Crew - 12-07-2012 kickass! I'm glad to see that the Adventure Time game isn't being thrown in the pile with all the generic bad licensed games! I gotta check it out. RE: Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Not all games do it but if this game chooses to separate sprites like Ice king,Giant Ice king and his attacks in separate Archives we should respect and preserve that, there is obviously some logic to that since these are professional game developers and in the end the combined sheet loses usability since you lose the benefit of a constant height and predictable width since each strip starts to interfere with the others.. RE: Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?! All sprites - megarockexe - 12-07-2012 I agree that options should be available. One for "traditional TsR" style, and another as-is from the original ZIP. RE: Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?! All sprites - Ton - 12-07-2012 Yeah, but then when we get down to sheets that have one sprite--like "ketchup"--what do we do? I was reorganizing to make things easier to find. There's no reason to have 14the different sheets with 2-3 items on them when we can have one big one. I've stopped uploading til we can figure something out. I want to make it easy, but I also don't want to do anything that would prevent you from wanting to submit in the future. RE: Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?! My general concern here is that the grouping is making it difficult to animate or use at all, if you're using more than a single frame. Because of this, if something is a single item like the ketchup stain it makes no difference if it's grouped, in fact it is evident in the strips like loot that the developers were already grouping static sprites onto one archive so it doesn't impact usability at all if it's grouped. There are other sprites like the tiles or teacup where it makes no difference either. As for the characters, the game developers obviously separated them for one reason or another, maybe differentiating the NCPs from boss battles as a possible example? If you insist on putting them in a section best case would be if you can put the strips one on top of the other but as separate images, not sure if you can do this though. RE: Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?! All sprites - Dazz - 12-07-2012 What about putting the strips together, with 2 alternate colours; the strips be in pink, with a green "background" between them. Thus they can be easily separated, and still be used conventionally. Like this? RE: Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?! This still leads to an unnecessarily large image, but that's more your problem. RE: Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?! All sprites - Chaoxys - 12-07-2012 Idk if anyone said this already, but FBLumpy.png looks like it was resized or something. |
