Tingle does charge a lot but honestly if you have the rupee upgrades then it shouldn't be a big deal. At least from what I've found when I played it.

RE: Legend of Zelda: WÜnd Waker (Wii U) - Zero Kirby - 01-23-2013

He charges you just under 3200 Rupees for all eight maps

You can carry up to 5000 with the maximum wallet upgrade

You'll probably find that much before you've even finished the fourth dungeon

RE: Legend of Zelda: WÜnd Waker (Wii U) - Helmo - 01-23-2013

I just got into Zelda recently, I never even beat a Zelda game until the end of last year (Minish Cap).
Then I beat OoT yesterday, now I'm on a Zelda marathon and I'm planning to beat:
OoA
OoS
LADX
LoZ
MM

I Might just buy the GCN game after I beat all these since I don't plan to get a Wii U any time soon.

RE: Legend of Zelda: WÜnd Waker (Wii U) - Vipershark - 01-24-2013

comparison shots between the original game running in dolphin at 1080p and the new game
Lower polycount aside, original looks far better.
The HD textures are nice but they completely removed the graphical charm of the original game with the realistic shading, bloom, and motion blur.
The realistic and cartoony features just clash and it's bad.

RE: Legend of Zelda: WÜnd Waker (Wii U) - Mutsukki - 01-24-2013

I honestly can't see how you can look at these comparisons and think the original is better, it baffles me. But to each their own I guess. I'm a huge WW fan and I'm most certainly psyched about this HD version. People are complaining that it isn't cel-shaded anymore, but it's still the same cartoon feeling? I don't see ANY realistic features, unless you mean the lighting which is not really a valid point because the Gamecube one just didn't do that because it couldn't handle it? I love the original cel-shaded graphics and yeah, maybe having them more cel-shaded would be nice, but in other hand, I'm kinda glad I'm not playing the same game again, you know, I enjoy this change of pace very much.

I'm waiting to see it in motion, as I believe it'll look way better too. But I'm still happy for this.

RE: Legend of Zelda: WÜnd Waker (Wii U) - Vipershark - 01-24-2013

let me put it this way

imagine they updated jet set radio hd the same way except got rid of all the cel shading

the main appeal of the game is gone
the amazing atmosphere is gone

this is what just happened

RE: Legend of Zelda: WÜnd Waker (Wii U) - Koopaul - 01-24-2013

Perhaps they will be able to put back in those dungeons they had to cut. Like the one you were supposed to get through to obtain Nayru's Pearl, instead of Jabun just giving it to you.

RE: Legend of Zelda: WÜnd Waker (Wii U) - Gold - 01-24-2013

I'm just excited for the undoubtedly built in Tingle Tuner. No more mucking about with GBAs and their short and flimsy cords!
Though I have to agree that in the side by side comparisons I do think that the original looks more aesthetically pleasing.

It's what they always did. LTTP on the GBA, LA on the GBC, OoT on the Cube and 3DS. It sells.

RE: Legend of Zelda: WÜnd Waker (Wii U) - Dazz - 01-24-2013

I dunno. I prefer the new graphics.
To each their own. Just emulate the original one if you prefer the original graphics, since Dolphin can do that for you, and you don't even need to buy a new game! Woo!

RE: Legend of Zelda: WÜnd Waker (Wii U) - Keychain - 01-24-2013

The building roof textures still look like complete arse in the remake.

RE: Legend of Zelda: WÜnd Waker (Wii U) - puggsoy - 01-24-2013

Looking at those side-by-side comparisons, the new one doesn't actually look too bad. To be honest the water shore is actually a big improvement. Link still looks better in the original though.
But again I haven't played it and haven't experienced its atmosphere exactly so yah.

RE: Legend of Zelda: WÜnd Waker (Wii U) - Kriven - 01-24-2013

I wouldn't have a problem with this if it were a new game in the series. I mean, the new graphical style is good, and I actually like it for the most part (although it does have this weird smoothed-to-death feel about it.)

Unfortunately they said we were getting Wind Waker.
This isn't Wind Waker.

RE: Legend of Zelda: WÜnd Waker (Wii U) - Garamonde - 01-24-2013

Of course the original has its charms but I don't see how that doesn't look at least kinda pretty either. I feel like the GC version, when compared to the new, looks just a little on the "dull" side. I mean, things actually have shadows now!
I guess if we had more cell shading people would have less problem with it because that's where a lot of the forementioned "charm" comes from.

I didn't say it wasn't pretty, though. I said it wasn't Wind Waker :p
