RE: Wanted: Teacher/Mentor - Previous - 03-12-2013 You can use whatever you want, but MSPaint is a basic program that has what you needs and is installed on Windows anyways. Just keep in mind that you should stay away from tools that take away your pixel precise control, such as anti-aliased brushes, gradient tools, filters etc. :> RE: Wanted: Teacher/Mentor - FrozenPhoenix96 - 03-12-2013 (03-12-2013, 10:21 AM)Previous Wrote: You can use whatever you want, but MSPaint is a basic program that has what you needs and is installed on Windows anyways. I have PhotoShop CS6, could that also work? RE: Wanted: Teacher/Mentor - Garamonde - 03-12-2013 you could try, but it'd just make the process more complicated, as PS isn't made for pixel art. if you want to, though, give it a go I guess! see how it works out. RE: Wanted: Teacher/Mentor - Previous - 03-12-2013 Well anything that lets you make pictures by placing single pixels would work On PS, you can use the pen tool (not the brush!) and set it's size to 1px. RE: Wanted: Teacher/Mentor - FrozenPhoenix96 - 03-13-2013 Alright, thanks guys! I'll try to make something today, and then I will show it. In which section do I need to post it when it's ready? Also, don't take easy on me, every critique and hints are appreciated, even while it's a hard or sounds harsh, I can take it. By the way, quick question, is it allowed to make sprites of a image? Like making a sprite based on a image. Not copying it in sprite version or or making same pose in sprites or something, but only as a example to look how the character looks like. That's allowed? It's even adviced to use images of a character for reference when spriting it, so you can make sure you get the features and proportions right and all that. Also to make sure you don't end up making a sprite of some completely different character |
