RE: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze - Kriven - 06-12-2013 As much as I'd love to see Lanky playable in a sidescroller, I think it'll be either Kiddy, Funky, or Chunky. The characters in the DKCR series are divided into "Monkeys" and "Apes" (personal terms for them), and Dixie fills the roll of a new Monkey. To balance multiplayer games a little more, Dixie will need an Ape Kong to accompany her. RE: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze - A.J. Nitro - 06-12-2013 If the 4th playable isn't Kiddy, I'm hoping it's Lanky. Also, I hope we're not forced to use DK all the time. It would be kinda nice to use Diddy and Dixie as a pair. Tiny and Chunky were alright, but they acted more like replacements for Dixie and Kiddy respectfully. Anyway, I would welcome the idea of playing both as Diddy and Dixie at the same time! It would be just like DKC2 all over again! RE: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze - Kriven - 06-12-2013 Would Tiny still play like she used to considering her ridiculous retcon? RE: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze - E-Man - 06-12-2013 (06-12-2013, 11:41 AM)Kriven Wrote: Would Tiny still play like she used to considering her ridiculous retcon? You mean how she became taller than Dixie for no apparent reason? RE: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze - Kriven - 06-12-2013 And older. But yes, that exactly. Her physique doesn't lend itself well to flight anymore, nor are her pigtails long enough to accomodate her body size for lift. RE: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze - ~DrakoRero~ - 06-12-2013 Oh my god I REALLY hope it's Lanky, pleaaaassseeeee! You know, since Tiny was only created to replace Dixie in DK64, they didn't have to use her. RE: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze - Koopaul - 06-12-2013 By the way guys David Wise is confirmed to be working on some of the music for this game! That's unbelievable! http://gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=204709 RE: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze - Ton - 06-13-2013 Oh man. Best news I've heard. That's unbelievable! When I saw a YouTube comment about that, I thought it was only a rumor... But this is incredible that it's actually true! That's just one step closer to Retro being the new Rare! RE: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze - Stasis Rune - 06-13-2013 DIXIE KONG! She was always a favorite of mine! (also...this might increase her chances of getting in Smash Bros.!) I just hope that Player 1 doesn't always have to be Donkey Kong, so you can have more team variety, especially since there's a 4th character... Also, I do love "snow" themes, even though there wasn't much shown in the video. But the water segments looked gorgeous. When Donkey Kong was launched into the water at the beach, gosh, that's some beautiful water and underwater graphics, I ADORE stuff like that. (also...this might increase her chances of getting in Smash Bros.!) If you think that's beautiful, wait until you see DK's fur. On the subject of beautiful water, Nintendo has a good history of creating believable water. It all started with that Waveracer game and other games had it such as the Pikmin games. Point is, no matter how powerful the console is, it's the artists that are able to create a believable environment. RE: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze - Chaoxys - 06-16-2013 People will probably hate on me for this, but I honestly hope the 4th character is one of the viking enemies who partners up with you. As much as I'd love another kong, I can't help but love the idea of playing as an archer penguin even more.l RE: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze - Gors - 06-17-2013 Donkey Kong is a type of series whose enemy themes change constantly, but all of them follow a pattern; it's not like Mario whose enemies are really unrelated to each other (we have bullets, walking mushrooms, bombs, steel balls that barks, turtles, fire snakes and beetles, to name a few). While I love the viking designs, I kinda prefer having varied enemies instead of everything following a single theme. But we'll see. |
