I could have sworn there was a Mario & Luigi sprite tutorial that details this (among other useful information) back on the main site some time ago. Whatever happened to it?

hum.... is there a way to do this in my spriting program, GIMP?

RE: Quirby's custom Kirby sprites, NEED CHECKING - E-Man - 11-18-2013

I don't know much about GIMP, but don't you have a circle tool in that program, too? If so, I think you can make perfect circles the same way by dragging and holding down the shift key. To be perfectly honest, this kind of stuff is standard for nearly every drawing application out there.

Also, why do you want to make perfect circles all the time? There are some times that a slightly deformed circle look a little more interesting than a perfect one. Just try your options and stick with what looks best to you.

there's nothing in GIMP for circles, but you can select a area in the shape of a circle.

Select an area in the shape a circle? You mean like that lasso tool?

In that case, you could simply hold down the sift key while making a circular selection. After you made a selection you're happy with, just fill in the circle with the paint bucket tool.

Simple. Don't use GIMP. It's not useful at spriting at all, as it works best as a Photoshop-esque program.

Stick with Paint. It's simpler and much more effective.

microsoft paint should be automatically installed on your computer, assuming you have a PC and not a mac

Protip. Right click the image you wanna share and select "Copy image URL". Then click the "insert image" button above the comment editor and paste the URL of the image you copied. The result? This:

RE: Quirby's custom Kirby sprites, NEED CHECKING - Mit - 11-21-2013

the black outlines on the added bits clash with the original Wheelie bits, since you can tell that the Wheelie itself has a bit of sel-out around the outlines. I'm not 100% sure how to explain it, but you can see the difference by looking at it.

Now that I think about it, I don't know if this is considered a tileset or not. You guys tell me! and yes, I hit copy image URL.

No, that's not a tile set.
A tile set is more like this: http://www.spriters-resource.com/ds/newsupermariobros/sheet/8415/

Could you crop your images from now on so that there's not a gigantic amount of white space before uploading, please?
