RE: Quirby's seemingly clever assortment of Pixels - Quirby64 - 10-18-2014 I've been trying to use a 2DS music tracker as of lately, so..... meh. Less stuff .o. (Or more considering I'm posting) Weegee Death Stare : Miniature Version of Mario's Superstar Saga walk sprites : Three Color Mario : MeganyMan : Barry Steakfries (This is actually for a game Called App Allstars Melee ; by JelloBoyInc who's been inactive here forawhile) : HeavyDaWeaponsGuy (Also, for AMM. Sorry for big image o.o) : And that ends this. FOR NAO BWEHEHEHEHEHEH *goes off to VGR chat to experience not much happening probably* RE: Quirby's seemingly clever assortment of Pixels - Kelvin - 10-18-2014 Mario's RPG sprites could stand to have smaller eyes and a bigger nose. Megaman needs some work on his perspective and jagged lines. The color palettes on both are good. Barry needs more contrast on his suit, hair and equipment, and has some pillow shading in the narrower parts. Apart from the weird face, the Heavy looks pretty cool. But why is there so much empty space? RE: Quirby's seemingly clever assortment of Pixels - Quirby64 - 10-20-2014 I tried enlarging Mario's nose by a pixel and his eyes shorter by a pixel, but... I dunno, it looks kinda weird to me. Seems like hes squinting. Added contrast to Barry. I didn't find more than one case of pillowshading in the sprites, with the culprit being the strap .o. Fun fact : I also didn't know what to do with the heavy. In his TF2 Wiki 3D pictures you could spin around to see different angles, that's what it seemed I had to do. And the thing I'd want the most critique on as of now is the bigger sheet for 3 Color Sonic (NOT 8-bit, just 3 colors). I did'nt get any crits on it last time, and I'm considering submitting this to TSR, soooooo yea wowsers i havent been shot yet yey-*shot right after clicking "Post Reply"* RE: Quirby's seemingly clever assortment of Pixels - Quirby64 - 10-25-2014 Experimenting with tiles....again, counting the Cave Story Mockup. It's 45m from Donkey Kong .o. I ended up running out of space, so it's not the best. XP RE: Quirby's seemingly clever assortment of Pixels - Virt - 10-25-2014 The red is really bright. I'd consider toning it down and maybe having it be an off-hue red. RE: Quirby's seemingly clever assortment of Pixels - Quirby64 - 10-25-2014 How about this? It's the darkest red I found in the GBC palette that I have. Because it came from this red, the red on the other post, then pink. RE: Quirby's seemingly clever assortment of Pixels - Kelvin - 10-25-2014 That Sonic sprite is very badly misshapen. I'd like to think it's following a style of some kind, but I can't place it. The figure-8 running frames on the upper row look like he's just scooting along, and the peel-out legs look like they were free-handed with a trackball. The walking cycle uses an odd number of frames, which makes him look like he's limping. His muzzle on most of the heads is too large, which also makes his eyes too small. His head also changes sizes a lot; if any part of a character's anatomy should stay mostly the same, it's that. I'm sorry if it seems harsh, but overall, that sprite is just a big mess. RE: Quirby's seemingly clever assortment of Pixels - Quirby64 - 11-02-2014 Merp. Proportions are hard-*shot* Heads are bothering me in the meantime while I'm working on other sprites. I personally think the far right is the best to me, but I dunno. And now other stuff! Formula One : Built to Win GBC Mockup : And Bubsy, because...Well, what could possibly go wrong? Also, I just realized it has the same problem with the head like 3-Color Sonic, I think...whoops... : Now, I'll be off to venture around the forums for a bit more. RE: Quirby's seemingly clever assortment of Pixels - Yangfly Master - 11-05-2014 Hey quirby. Cool sprites bro! goota go fats basically, See that sweet bounce Sonic has? The one that makes it look like he's running, and swinging his hands in such a way that makes it look like he's Really Goin' Sonic Speed?
Hint: It's in the feet and arms. I feel like Sketchasaurus or Gors made a wonderful post about this before on the prior form of VGR. If either of you are around, please elaborate on whatever the heck I'm trying to say. ): RE: Quirby's seemingly clever assortment of Pixels - Quirby64 - 11-05-2014 (11-05-2014, 01:06 PM)Kosheh Wrote: Kosheh, that's it! Why didn't I realize that.. I think I'ma getting somewhere now. RE: Quirby's seemingly clever assortment of Pixels - Virt - 11-05-2014 That's a lot better. I think his face could still do with some redoing, though. His muzzle/mouth area could be shorter/smaller so his eyes take up more of his face. RE: Quirby's seemingly clever assortment of Pixels - DragonDePlatino - 11-10-2014 Quirby64. The arm on that running Sonic pose...it just...it's kind of... Oh, never mind. Just redraw it man, please. DX RE: Quirby's seemingly clever assortment of Pixels - DaHog - 11-10-2014 DDP, I don't see what's wrong with the ar -- Oh yeah, better change that.
