RE: A few soundpacks I need help with - Mystie - 12-15-2014 Thanks! Although the sample isn't at the correct pitch. The character who says that line (Violet) is supposed to have a higher pitch. Example of what her voice should sound like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1GGvEtG1rQ But anyway, I'll try the script out right now! Thank you so much! UPDATE: Just used the script, both on the Gamecube file and the PS2 file. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to go from here. I tried opening one in Audacity, and it just makes a glitchy noise. UPDATE 2: Apparently, .vag is a common file format in Playstation games, and apparently VGSC supports it. I tried renaming one of them to .vag and running it through VGSC, and it didn't work. UPDATE 2.5: Downloaded the sample .wav and edited it in Audacity. Turning the pitch up to +13, it sounds close enough to her actual voice. RE: A few soundpacks I need help with - puggsoy - 12-15-2014 Yeah, as I said they're headerless, the guy who decrypted that one pasted on the header himself, sorry if that wasn't very clear. Would you be able to upload the PS2 file for me to check out for myself? Using your suggestion of turning up the pitch I may be able to figure out the correct sample rate and then put the headers on while extracting from QuickBMS (or maybe my own program, if necessary), then you can convert them with VGSC. However if the Gamecube files don't match (chance are they won't) then I'm still not sure what format they are and that's a whole other issue. Would the PS2 sounds be sufficient or are there significant differences between the versions? EDIT: Additionally; this may be unlikely, but are there any other, not-quite-so-big files near talkToMe.dat? They may contain the headers or similar information that would be very helpful in extracting them. RE: A few soundpacks I need help with - Mystie - 12-15-2014 Yep, PS2 will do! There are absolutely no differences between sounds in the Playstation versions and the Gamecube/Xbox version, so it's all cool to me! Here is the "TalkToMe" from the PS2 version: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ttzn1143j16zj5i/talkToMe.dat?dl=0 And here is a music file, also taken from the PS2 version: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vgk0nzadhg0prwv/TEMPLE~1.XMA?dl=0 UPDATE: Looked in on the XenHAX thread and found the updated script, and then used it. Everything came out perfectly, thank you! RE: A few soundpacks I need help with - puggsoy - 12-16-2014 Ah awesome, no worries. A big part of the credit goes to barti, no doubt. I'll still try and figure out the Gamecube version's sounds, even if they're no different to the PS2 ones. |
