RE: NES Classics - Style switch - NetNerdy - 04-06-2015 And now for something, completely different. (note to self: increase preview size) RE: NES Classics - Style switch - Kelvin - 04-06-2015 Ooh! Was hoping to see more from you! What style are you using for Yoshi here? I get that he's supposed to fit into SMB1, but the bird-like legs imply a different source. Or maybe you're going for realism? RE: NES Classics - Style switch - NetNerdy - 04-06-2015 (04-06-2015, 03:41 PM)Kelvin Wrote: Ooh! Was hoping to see more from you! Taking a break until later this week, but might as well show something else from the same file (I have a few projects on one file) I'm going for making the concept Yoshi and other companion in the original SMB style shown from Miyamoto's sketch above. RE: NES Classics - Style switch - SmithyGCN - 04-07-2015 I KNEW I recognized that sketch from somewhere! I remember seeing it once many years ago. RE: NES Classics - Style switch - NetNerdy - 04-07-2015 I need something to show... uhm... Here! Now, back to work on the previous projects. RE: NES Classics - Style switch - NetNerdy - 04-10-2015 new version up for critiquing. Also, need some help to improve the shot sprite RE: NES Classics - Style switch - ZeroSaberGreen - 04-10-2015 Make him hold it under his buster instead of above it. RE: NES Classics - Style switch - NetNerdy - 04-10-2015 Okay, here's the attempt at underarm holding. for the chest part, should it be A) wide or, actually, maybe B will be the choice. anyways, new previews of some frames RE: NES Classics - Style switch - Kelvin - 04-12-2015 Meggerman Ecks tends to lean a bit more forward in his idle sprites, then leans back when shooting, and has a wider stance. Yours looks much more relaxed. Also, Earthbound characters in Megaman style is SUCH an improvement! RE: NES Classics - Style switch - Gors - 04-13-2015 the stiff stance is part of the Konami style - the upright stance helps economizing precious sprite tiles. nothing wrong there - though the clear skin color highlights on his boots and crotch should be blue instead. The light color makes the sprite look too cluttered. RE: NES Classics - Style switch - Sketchasaurus - 04-15-2015 Pretty interesting stuff here so far, I'm rather interested in seeing more of this kind of stuff. Though I'm not entirely sure if some of those highlights are needed, but that's something to play around with for sure. (also, it appears we have a bit of a 3D glasses stand-off here ahaha) RE: NES Classics - Style switch - ZeroSaberGreen - 04-15-2015 A challenge appears! Ryu Hyabusa (Ninja Gaiden) in LoZ II: Link's Adventure style. RE: NES Classics - Style switch - NetNerdy - 04-15-2015 (04-15-2015, 07:15 PM)ZeroSaberGreen Wrote: A challenge appears!
