RE: Pokémon Generations by Pokémon - saifors - 03-14-2016 When it comes to the Pokémon designs my favourite were those of gen 4, they actually got me into it, I had never had any interest in Pokémon before that because I didn't like the grand majority of designs. RE: Pokémon Generations by Pokémon - Koopaul - 03-14-2016 The thing about Gen 1 & 2 is that no matter how tough or cute a Pokemon looked. they always seemed like they belonged in the same series. Like I can see Jigglypuff and Rhyhorn in the same franchise. But Plusle and Registeel? No way! And it all comes down to the face of the Pokemon. Rocky or mineral Pokemon in the old Gens had faces that still looked animal. Geodude is literally a rock with arms, but look at his face. It's cartoony and expressive. Rhyhorn is beastly. But the Regis or Claydol line? Ugh. There's nothing to like about them. If someone told me they were Space Pirate bioweapons from Metroid Prime I'd believe that before someone told me they were Pokemon. Even Magnemite, who doesn't have a face, has that cartoony charm I love just by having that simply white eyeball. Imagine if Magnemite was made in Gen 3... EDIT: I forgot about Staryu and Starmie. They are Gen 1 Pokemon that have the facelessness I don't like. So I guess I'm wrong on my own principals. But I can admit I was wrong. RE: Pokémon Generations by Pokémon - NICKtendo DS - 03-15-2016 I fucking love Regice for some reason! ... I'm not exactly sure why. I also love Unown. My favorite Gen has to be 3, because of Regice and the two new Unown. 2 is a very close second. Imagine if Magnemite was made in Gen 3... What if he'd been introduced in Black and White? Gen 5 Magnemite, now with levitate as an ability for glorious ground immunity. Magnemite/Magneton are some of my gen1 favourites, in fact robotic pokémon in general are something I really want to see more of. Hopefully Sun&Moon will have at least one line of robots. Hopefully Sun&Moon will have at least one line of robots. I have this huge lingering feeling that Sun and Moon are going to be full of robots, especially with Magearna being supposedly the first "man-made" Pokemon (which I thought was Mewtwo? Maybe this is the first "holistic" manmade Pokemon?) Actually hell, I wouldn't be surprised if there was something like a big machine/steam/dieselpunk metropolis somewhere in the new region RE: Pokémon Generations by Pokémon - Lemonray - 03-15-2016 I'm expecting them to pull a Genesect with Magearna. As in what we see is a robot body with a pokémon inside, instead of an AI controlling it. It could be another robocop'd legendary or a pokémon's soul/consciousness inside the robot, who knows? Remember, we've also had Porygon since gen 1 and that is a 100% manmade pokémon. RE: Pokémon Generations by Pokémon - Kriven - 03-15-2016 This new legendary is supposed to be ancient... So I think it's probably like a golem. It's made out of earthly materials and imbued with spiritual essence. RE: Pokémon Generations by Pokémon - SchAlternate - 03-15-2016 What I disliked the most about the Gen 5 roster (?) was that a lot of Pokemons were just rip offs of older Pokemons. I get that they were trying to emulate what Gen 1 did by introducing players to a brand new land with creatures they've never seen before, which is alright, but then we see what's essentially a rip off of Machop (Timburr), Geodude (Dangoro), Zubat (Woobat), and a few more. I mean, if they're going out of their way to make a new unique set of Pokemons, why do you give us Pokemons that are functionally the same as the ones we had before? You might as well bring the old ones back! But I mean, besides that, it still has a lot of cool Pokemons on it, so it's not like its my least favorite Gen in terms of Pokemon design. Frankly I don't really have a non favorite in that category. Dr. Robotnik the lead villain in Sun/Moon, 100% confirmed. RE: Pokémon Generations by Pokémon - Monobrobe - 03-19-2016 One thing I noticed is that between gen 2 and 3, the art for the Pokemon changed significantly. That might be another reason why gen 1 and 2 seem to fit together, while the others seem more out of place. Also, if we're talking about favorite Pokemon now, my overall favorite is Quilava. Out of legendaries, it's Latias, and of the mythical Pokemon, Jirachi. I grew up playing every Pokemon game, but gen 3 was the one I was old enough to remember clearly, so it holds a special place in my heart. RE: Pokémon Generations by Pokémon - Jermungandr - 03-19-2016 Wait, what's the difference between Legendary and Mythical? RE: Pokémon Generations by Pokémon - AuraLancer - 03-19-2016 Legendary are the rare ones that you have to find on the overworld. There's typically one of each, and the main ones are featured on the box. Mythical Pokemon are the ones that you can't catch. They are only ever distributed through special events. These include Mew, Celebii, Jirachi and so on. RE: Pokémon Generations by Pokémon - Kriven - 03-20-2016 Since I stopped playing the games after the second generation, my only exposure to new Pokemon has been things like Pokemon Rumble and the free games on 3DS and Smash Bros., and occasional browsings of Bulbapedia... So I went and found a picture with all of them and crossed off the ones whose designs I actively dislike (or dislike as Pokemon, although they might work as concepts in a different franchise or on their own). There's quite a few (like Munchlax, who I didn't mark, and Mime Jr., who I did) whose designs I don't mind on their own, but I don't like them being part of whichever evolutionary line. RE: Pokémon Generations by Pokémon - puggsoy - 03-20-2016 SMEARGLE'S TAIL IS A FREAKIN PAINTBRUSH GEN 2 WINS RE: Pokémon Generations by Pokémon - Koh - 03-20-2016 Not to mention his beret hair.
