RE: Mario characters in Undertale style - Joxon - 06-16-2016 The Sprite looks good overall, but it doesn't quite feel like Undertale. Perhaps it's the eyes. Few characters in Underale actually have the whites of their eyes showing (or at least not as much as yours). Although, I wouldn't be the person to ask. Maybe someone can elaborate for me, but it seems more like a regular Sprite with an Undertale pallet. This is just me though, Undertale doesn't have the most consistent Sprite style anyways RE: Mario characters in Undertale style - TheMario360 - 06-16-2016 (06-16-2016, 03:49 PM)Joxon Wrote: The Sprite looks good overall, but it doesn't quite feel like Undertale. This is just me though, Undertale doesn't have the most consistent Sprite style anyways I checked the page for Undertale on Spriter's Resource, and that only seems to be true of the characters who have white skin (or fur), any other case of it has the eye's outlined, or in the case of Undyne, the eyes aren't white at all. I'll be posting some more sprites in a bit. I added another set to the sheet. RE: Mario characters in Undertale style - TheMario360 - 06-17-2016 Another set of idle and talking sprites added. RE: Mario characters in Undertale style - Silversea - 06-18-2016 The "sad" series doesn't seem sad as much as it looks like he is squinting. The eyebrows could be angled down a bit a more (as in / \ rather than \ /) and you could probably play with the mouth shape more. There is a difference between ;D and D; after all ! I made alterations to the "sad" sprites. RE: Mario characters in Undertale style - TheMario360 - 06-19-2016 I made another emotion set, and the my first attempt at a walking animation. I based it off of Bowser's Inside Story sprites. RE: Mario characters in Undertale style - TheMario360 - 06-25-2016 While I've been waiting for feedback on the walk animation, I made a prototype for the Koopa Clown Car, and how Bowser would look in it. RE: Mario characters in Undertale style - Filler - 06-26-2016 Sorry if this comes rude. But way too much black outlines. I know Undertale uses black outlines, but it doesn't use it for everything. It's also quite a bit jagged, which looks rough, even for Undertale standards. The tail could be mis-read as..... something lewd, so I just flat out removed it. Plus, Bowser's cream-ish belly doesn't end that early. He was also a tad too tall. He was also in a derpy cross eye. I went ahead and tried to redo Bowser, with some actual Undertale colors for it to look more consistent. I have no problem with your edits except for your last comment. All the colors I used on Bowser were from various sprites in the game that I took from sheets uploaded to the spriters resource. RE: Mario characters in Undertale style - Filler - 06-26-2016 Really? I guess I used different ones, then. RE: Mario characters in Undertale style - TheMario360 - 06-26-2016 So, I applied the edits to all the talking animations, but I have yet to get feedback on the first walking animation. RE: Mario characters in Undertale style - Filler - 06-26-2016 For the walking animation, you got a decent idea of what to do. But the arm movement feels very robot-like. Or like a wind-up toy. I'd suggest to make the arms move a bit, rather than being in a straight pivot. Example when animated into a gif. (I have no idea what speed you wanted in, so I just did GIMP's default. The front arm should bend more into their stomach, as their back arm should be less visible. Or whatever. Try and look at sprites from different games, and see how the walking animations work, it'll help. RE: Mario characters in Undertale style - Red Haired Bastard - 06-27-2016 I don't think anyone in the game really showed any serious emotion in the game through their sprite. they usually did that in their little mugshot in the corner of the dialog box. So there is kind of no point for the sad talk, Angry talk, and confused talk. Maybe you should work on some sort of Mugshot for Bowser. But yeah, I should make a mugshot. I can't right now though because my main computer refuses to boot up my internet browser.
