Personally, I'm fond of the original Robocop, Into the Spider-Verse, and the Lord of the Rings movies. RE: What's your favorite movie? - moviefan2k4 - 11-19-2024 There's far too many for me to pick just one, but I have loved the Back to the Future movies ever since I first saw them in the late '80s and early '90s. My later childhood had some great period-piece superhero films too, like The Rocketeer, The Phantom, and of course The Shadow. But if I had to pick another solid favorite from that period, it would have to be The Crow, starring Brandon Lee. I've probably seen the film at least 100 times in 30 years, and yet it never gets old. I've also been blessed enough to meet both Ernie Hudson and the dearly-departed Tony Todd, plus the comics' creator James O'Barr. I recently bought the film on 4K, and "wow" doesn't even begin to describe my reaction. A few of my later admired films are the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the first three Matrix entries, and the original Highlander. I also adore Field of Dreams, and I'm not even a fan of sports in general. As for movies based on games, both the 1993 version of Super Mario Bros. and Double Dragon from 1994 are guilty pleasures. The first Mortal Kombat from 1995 is awesome, but Annihilation is 99% pure garbage. I also love the first live-action adaptation of Street Fighter; even though he was very sick at the time, you could tell Raul Julia put everything he had into playing Bison, and appeared to enjoy every moment of it. |
