Oh that. I think that's just momentum, or how he throw's it. It always was a bit odd, but I guess that's just how he throws it.
I can't get any screenshots though, but I might be able to help with details and explaining (though my GC has been taken away, as my brother is stupid)

FS idea!
He will randomly pull out 1 of 4 ransformation masks, and turn into one of the transformed links! (Feirce diety is the rarest) This lass for a limited amount of time.
