RE: 'Tales of' Style Final Fantasy Characters - Seth - 03-14-2009 I know, but this sprites are about "ToP" style, and I don't believe this style should have exactly thr same atributes than the FFIV style. RE: 'Tales of' Style Final Fantasy Characters - JosephSeraph - 03-14-2009 acctually rydia´s hair isn´t blackpower '_' go look for yoshitaka´s official art for ref, and i suppose dear tetsuya drew for the DS release too... a question: For what did you put those dithered and almost imperceptible green pixels about the.... thingy.... in her hair? You know, the outlined need to be darker too... and shading isn´t just randomnly degradeing it. decolour her and just leave the lineart, after proper adjustments, THEN you begin with the colours. Her feet arent big enough, but i think if you increase too much it will be bad.... and sorry if i am being rough... (i don´t remember the name) RE: 'Tales of' Style Final Fantasy Characters - Bugsey - 03-14-2009 (03-14-2009, 11:58 AM)Emma Wrote: The sprite isn't in ToP style. Try using the actual game palette, and try adjusting Rydia's proportions to match those of Mint's, for example. I'm doing this in paint. Also, Rydia is supposted to be much younger than Mint, which means her proportions should be slightly different. Also, Phantaisa uses deeper, more earthy tones, while FFIV's characters pop out and look colorful. Of course there's going to be some problems. The only other problem is I don't understand what you're talking about shading. Could a novice like me do this with paint? Oh yeah, the thing in her hair is supposted to be the flower she always wears. I forgot to recolor it when I submitted it. RE: 'Tales of' Style Final Fantasy Characters - Emma - 03-14-2009 "I'm doing this in Paint" is the single worst excuse ever. Almost everyone who sprites uses MSPaint. Poor workmen always blame their tools. I know Rydia's younger than Mint, but not by that much. Her feet are too small for the style, she's not quite tall enough. And if you're going to sprite in a style, use the palette, or at least adjust it - by brightening it, for example.
