RE: 3d Modelling - Kairos - 03-23-2009

Heads up, 3D Modeling is not easy. Maybe if you're trying to make some Models for fun, it'd be eaiser.

But if you're trying to make some for a game or some such, get ready to work.

RE: 3d Modelling - Mabelma - 03-23-2009

No I know they're not easy I meant easy to understand the program. Not something like hey click here and you'll have an instact awesome wolf character.

The Character Shop thing is completely awesome it aleady has the animations done for you, you just upload your mesh and fit the bones to the body.
Does anyone know about some other free, easy 3d modelling programs?

I'm still learning so I can't really give you a good opinion, plus I have a hands-on book.

RE: 3d Modelling - Mabelma - 03-23-2009

OK I downloaded milkshape and it's a bit difficult but once ou get the hang of it it's quite easy.

RE: 3d Modelling - Clear_Midnight - 03-23-2009

glad to have helped.

RE: 3d Modelling - Mabelma - 03-23-2009

Forget milkshape I can't save anything. I'm going to use anim8or for now. Let's see what I can do.

RE: 3d Modelling - Hesher - 03-23-2009

Maya is the same program the best in the biz use (as with 3ds Max because they come from the same family), and its only expensive if you actually buy it :B

I did use Maya for a couple years, got fairly good with it, but my computer is too shitty to render what beefy graphics I now require.

RE: 3d Modelling - Raccoon Sam - 03-24-2009

Didn't read any of the previous posts, but:
-I'm a Cinema 4D user, so if you ever get around that, I'd be glad to help.
-Blender is free, if you're a man of morals, look into it.
-Lightwave has the shittiest UI ever. Plan around that.

RE: 3d Modelling - Kitsu - 03-24-2009

I dunno. I have Lightwave and it's pretty good. I think its UI is just so different from others, so it takes some time to get to used to it.

RE: 3d Modelling - Vipershark - 03-24-2009

Use Anim8or. It's good.

RE: 3d Modelling - Mabelma - 03-24-2009

I'm going to look a bit around Cinema 4d but I'm currently using Anim8or.

RE: 3d Modelling - Clear_Midnight - 03-25-2009

If you can rake up enough cash Maya's the one, the #1 software. Even Sony, Nintendo, and Mircosoft use it!

RE: 3d Modelling - Mabelma - 03-26-2009

I'll try and get some money to buy Maya. I'm currently trying my hand at anim8or. When I get some more money from my games I'll buy Maya if it's necessary.

RE: 3d Modelling - Vipershark - 03-26-2009

wait a second
cash from your games?

you mean catch it and pop that?

AHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA

NOBODY will ever buy those

RE: 3d Modelling - Mabelma - 03-26-2009

No I meant that everytime a person plays them I get some money. I'm trying to improve my games but since no one wants to C+C them I can't improve shit about them.
