RE: Super Mario Bros. Adventure - CPU1 - 07-03-2009

So will this be a game or something?

RE: Super Mario Bros. Adventure - Gors - 07-03-2009

well, it might be.

Added an icy background, made some more enemies.

I think Mario could use a slightly bushier/thicker mustache, but I'm loving what you've got so far. =)

I like this, it's got a certain G&W feel to the animations, but I think Bowser doesn't suit the style (I'm thinking mainly of the eyes). I see a clash between the clouds, the sun and the hills of the first background, same between the notes and the lower scenery of the second background: I've just the impression that you ran out of ideas and wanted to fill. My favourite's Luigi, as he expresses the most character imo. Please carry on!

RE: Super Mario Bros. Adventure - Hero of Swords - 07-05-2009

I like this style a lot and look forward to seeing what you make next.
But yes, it looks a lot like Cavestory, especially in the eyes.

"Hello. First of all, no, this is NOT a game. It would be great if someone could program this, though.

Since I was away for a while, I couldn't work on anything (and as said before, I was tired of making Mario sprites). So, I made this as a way to shake the growing mold off from my account."

Basically, I wanted to do something that I've never done.

...yes, I've never sprited custom Mario stuff.

Well if you guys want I can make this into a game. I started one today, but i just id the a few animations. It's not too late. You guys should think about it..... or gals. I really don't know the gender of every person here.

I'll admit, the char sprites look a lot like Doukutsu, the fg tiles, not so much.

RE: Super Mario Bros. Adventure - Gold - 07-23-2009

How can you uys say this looks like Cavestory after seeing the "Superb Mario Project" ??

RE: Super Mario Bros. Adventure - Dave - 07-26-2009

Awesome style and ideas, I like the work you have put into it.

RE: Super Mario Bros. Adventure - bnewton - 07-27-2009

I think this would be cool if made into a game. btw if you made that paper-ish background without any ideas, it could be a tutorial lvl.
although, the bowser eye would look wierd as a dot.

now mind if I steal your sig? lol
start the cave/ghost house/bowser's castle tileset.

RE: Super Mario Bros. Adventure - Gors - 07-27-2009

Yeah, this is kinda morbid. I should have suggestions on what to do next.

RE: Super Mario Bros. Adventure - bnewton - 07-28-2009

and I just gave you some, I repeat cave/underground + ghost house/fortress + castle tilesets
also boo/thwomp/dry bones enemies.... maybe also a snow tileset?

RE: Super Mario Bros. Adventure - Gors - 07-28-2009

oh, sorry, didn't read it : /

I'll start working on them soon

RE: Super Mario Bros. Adventure - Dave - 07-28-2009

I like the style, how you cam up with it?

RE: Super Mario Bros. Adventure - Mewthriii - 07-30-2009

Love the style and love the concept, but if you're going to do something like this you should probably find a more sinister and serious final enemy. Bowser isn't exactly the best fit for a serious adventure. :/

I do want to see more of this, though! Smile
