RE: Luigi in "Tales of Eternia" style - nairenu - 07-17-2009 Heya there, im quite familiar with the Tales of style, and i should tell you, its nothing like it. first of all let me point out some errors, you used kid or female eyes, luigi is neither a kid nor a female (or is he? o.o) second, the hands are to small and the third is the shading is messed up. these are just some errors, there are more, hmmm the only good advice i can give you is, Observe. seriously, just by observing the style, checking howmuch colours u can use, and all that boring stuff, you can most likely get it right the 2nd or 3rd time u try it. keep spriting ^^ RE: Luigi in "Tales of Eternia" style - Link - 07-17-2009 Haha, thanks a lot. When I was making the sprite, I really wasn't too focused on making it in which style it is. (heck, I didn't even know the style until I posted it here. xD) I was primarily concerned with making it look good and proportional to Mario, which I believe I did. I think I will be more focused on following the style #SAM# set out in his Mario, rather than the Tales of style, because I liked his Mario sprite a lot. Unless, of course, does his Mario follow the style? RE: Luigi in "Tales of Eternia" style - nairenu - 07-17-2009 hmm, well, mario is like on the border, cause he looks like a kid (as in size, ofcourse i know he issa de plumma frome the new yorke, mamma mia lol, jkjk) hmm, his hands are in the style, hmm, his shading is pretty much correct, he uses the limit of colours 2, so yeah, its not perfectly in the style, because hes mario, i mean, all the characters in TOTWND or TOE have no ridiculous big nose, not a bright red hat (at least not that i know of) so SAM had to guess some things and hope they would come out right. thats my opinion tho, ask AngelGlory, hes the pro in ND3 style. RE: Luigi in "Tales of Eternia" style - Link - 07-17-2009 Haha, yeah, that's true. (Lol, that might've made my day. xD) Ahh, I tried really hard to limit myself to the amount of colors I used, except I just thought it looked loads better with more color! But that doesn't follow the style...If you look at my peach, she has like 5 shades of normal pink, and another 3 of pinkish-white shades. xD Do you think you would mind making an edit on my Luigi? It would be a lot of help. =] And Rep +1, for all your help. =] RE: Luigi in "Tales of Eternia" style - Azu - 07-17-2009 It's like it, I think the shading takes it out though. ND3/Eternia uses 16 colors. RE: Luigi in "Tales of Eternia" style - Link - 07-17-2009 Haha, in total? xD I think Luigi uses around that many, I believe. However, my Peach goes over by 4 or 5. =\ I just feel like if I take some of the colors out, it doesn't look as good, you know? xD My primary concern is doing what makes it look good. =D RE: Luigi in "Tales of Eternia" style - Angelglory - 07-17-2009 Actually I believe it's 15 colors + 1 color for transparency. I always limit myself to 15+1 colors because it's a nice challenge to make a sprite look good without going overboard with colors. Unless, of course, having more than 16 colors is part of the style. RE: Luigi in "Tales of Eternia" style - Link - 07-17-2009 Yeah, while I was doing Peach, the entire time I was thinking, "wow, I'm using wayyy too many colors. xD" But I couldn't stop myself, because I thought it would look better that way. But alas, I can't seem to make a good head for her, because I am not good enough in the style. xD |
