RE: Zelda StalChild Sprites - AlexPlunkett - 10-17-2009

I didn't say it theway all of you thought.
I mean, I've seen some Zelda customs which only have a few frames.

RE: Zelda StalChild Sprites - GrooveMan.exe - 10-17-2009

Link to then in this thread.

Chances are they're gonna be of high quality to make up for the lack of frames.

The first one's of pretty solid quality, and the second's as old as all hell. I still wouldn't say you have much of an excuse.

hardly.

to be blunt, these are pretty obvious edits, some of the sprites you made don't even look skeletal at all, yet alone detailed. That's pretty much what a stal-child is.

does that explain it enough or do I have to go and make a large post to explain everything in detail?

Yeah I guess. They were not edits. They were also my first spritestrip.

RE: Zelda StalChild Sprites - Gors - 10-17-2009

still, your sprites aren't good YET. It can be improved more. I'll give you more advice for you to work on.

The sprite doesn't look with the enemy you're trying to portrait. The head is different and it doesn't look like a skeleton. Sure, the size is too small, but you could try harder. The animation is also poor: the character is too stiff and mirrors itself. It's good to avoid mirroring, because it gives that 'laziness' feel to the sprites. Don't forget that animation is also character-specific. I mean, animated skeletons wouldn't walk waving the arms to much. See how it moves and attacks in the original game, so you can reproduce it in sprite form.

RE: Zelda StalChild Sprites - Rias - 10-17-2009

I think that these sprites aren't all that bad. What's all you guys's problem? It's better than I can do. All I can do is rip sprites, not make them.

RE: Zelda StalChild Sprites - AlexPlunkett - 10-17-2009

Thanks all for the advice and such.
However, I'm notgoing to continue the sprite sheet as I have other ones to do.
Anyone is free to use it and no credit or annything needed.
