grass doesnt get ligther as closer you are to the sun. not even in a attempt to represent depth.

the shadow to be honest servers no purpose besides a purely cosmetic one, as the point of view barely leaves any room to a fixed lightsource besides a conventional topdown one. considering the tileset is heavily based on the pokemon scheme, i'd say screw common sense and go for pure functionality. the heigh of each surface is already given by the fact its surrounded by a rock wall and he said stairs, and how the player interacts with the enviroment(i.e: you can jump off cliff but you cant climb them).

Dude are you making something out of Pokemon tiles?

I decided to make the walls lead into more rock instead of grass, and here, it seems like height is so much easier to tell.

the ground tiles look alright, but the trees need improvement. the medium and small pine trees should be more conical. also, you could give them some textures so it'll look more like leaves.
