RE: Marina - TomGuycott - 10-19-2009 Personally, I don't think Marina is a bad choice if one wanted to represent Treasure in some way, but I don't think my opinion should be listened to too closely, seeing as if it was possible, I'd have hundreds upon hundreds of playable characters just to drool over them like some kind of sick collection of digitized puppets. >_> Umm... Seriously though, out of the Treasure characters, Marina was the one I knew about the most before the release of Brawl, by which point I knew about almost all of them because I was buying the games left and right on the VC, because they were all awesome in different respects, what with Dynamite Heady's difficulty, Gunstar Heroes' action, Mischief Maker's quirky gameplay, Sin and Punishment being a pretty cool rail shooter on a limited system by today's standards, and the sheeeeer amount of bosses in Alien Soldier. So really I could care less whether it was a Marina, a Gunstar Blue, or an Epsilon Eagle that made it into the mix. But you're missing the biggest point of all: Smash needs more babes. So gimme that three-foot, green haired something-something with peg legs and shoulders that are each larger than her whole chest. The world will be a better place. RE: Marina - Ekoi - 10-20-2009 The difference between Ice Climbers-and-ROB and Marina-and-Pacman is that the first two weren't wholly defined in what they could do before Melee and Brawl. Marina and Pacman, on the other hand, are very defined, with Marina using alot of grapple moves, and Pacman being a Sonic-clone moreso than Tails is. Personally, I would like to see as little "ideas-pulled-out-of-ass" as possible, and leave that to Nintendo when they want to take an old character like Ice Climbers or ROB and put them into Smash Bros. RE: Marina - Sengir - 10-20-2009 I know it's not done yet, but she has jelly thighs. Will it be fixed or was that in the original game? I've never played it so I don't know. Isn't this whole game full of ideas being pulled from our asses? Why does it matter? As long as its not something outrageous, why not make up something? You know if its in the flavor of that character. Ice Climbers used ice and hammer attacks (duh) ROB used robotic attacks like lasers and jets. Ice Climbers wouldn't use lasers. ROB wouldn't use a hammer. Just make up stuff that sounds like what the character would use. Make sense? Their games play totally different (Im talking abot Pacman World). Anyhow, Pacmans alot older. o.O RE: Marina - Ekoi - 10-22-2009 Because using the Spin Dash and Bounce Attack isn't ripping off of Sonic, right? RE: Marina - Kirbyfan - 10-22-2009 Where did that come from??? RE: Marina - Koopaul - 10-22-2009 (10-22-2009, 07:25 PM)Ekoi Wrote: Because using the Spin Dash and Bounce Attack isn't ripping off of Sonic, right? Ah but I could come up with a moveset that doesn't involve Pacman World moves. Rather various unique biting and chomping attacks. i know what you're thinking but I got some cool ideas. First of all I thought it would be neat if Pacman's limbs appear and disappear on certain moves and situations (like when dodging) His arms and legs are used for his Standard attacks but they are gone when using Special attacks: B Side Pacman leaps forward with his mouth wide open. If you get hit you'll be swallowed and spit forward. His B up will be a continuous chomp session as he floats in the direction you aimed him. Similar to Fox's move. Those are just some ideas off the top of my head. But its just an example of what original ideas you can still do with a simple character. RE: Marina - tsr moderation staff - 10-22-2009 imo pacman would make a great at in his classic look. RE: Marina - TomGuycott - 10-22-2009 And a good Final Smash for Pacman would be eating a Power Pellet and then giving him the ability to move in all directions around the stage, chasing the opponents who either have turned into blue ghosts, or maybe just turn blue, and when he chomps them, BOOM, dead. Awesome. RE: Marina - Koopaul - 10-22-2009 Yeah I figured he'd turn into a giant 8 Bit version and chase you all while turned blue. And I wouldn't say bounce attack is ripping off Sonic. I'm sure sonic isnt the first character to bounce. And it fits to the body of Pacman. And 2 things don't make someone a rip off. RE: Marina - Sengir - 10-23-2009 Why is Pacman being discussed in Marina's thread? RE: Marina - Kitsu - 10-23-2009 Because it's possible that Marina may end up not getting a thread. But, I'd have to say that koopaul's Pacman ideas really look great. |
