RE: World of Warcraft Sheet Critique. - Eagallowglass - 11-23-2009 /sigh I give up. Just trying to make a fresh contribution to the community. You guys can just use these however you like from the forum. Take care and happy Thanks Giving! RE: World of Warcraft Sheet Critique. - LeleleleMAXIMUM - 11-23-2009 Hey, these aren't useless, but unfortunately you can't submit them to the site. I have a question about the second sheet: does the angle change in that one? I mean can you rotate, zoom, etc while talking to him? Because if you can't and it's a fixed view, then the second sheet is submittable. RE: World of Warcraft Sheet Critique. - GrooveMan.exe - 11-23-2009 Naw, man. WoW is entirely in 3D, it doesn't have still cutscenes. He *has* done a very good job of angling the models so they can be used effectively in a 2D context, it's just that we have to be clear as to what can be submitted here and what can't. No need to get emotional, 'Glass. RE: World of Warcraft Sheet Critique. - Random Talking Bush - 11-23-2009 While it can't be accepted to tSR since they're 3D models and not sprites, I still say you did a good job with keeping the size and angle consistent for the animations. RE: World of Warcraft Sheet Critique. - Ekoi - 11-23-2009 While this isn't a sheet that could be accepted into the archive, it is still a pretty good and useful sheet (and concept) that could be uploaded elsewhere for people to use! If you were to do a full sheet of all of the different non-emote animations it'd be a great source of pose reference for people making sprites. Don't let not getting this on TSR get you down! This is a great idea that would be great to see expanded upon! (I'll rip the textures from WoW after I finish Warcraft 3.)
RE: World of Warcraft Sheet Critique. - Random Talking Bush - 11-23-2009 Wait wait wait wait wait... I've got an idea! Quite a while back, Girrrtacos submitted Boo Mario from Super Mario Galaxy. I didn't want to accept it, because it was a 3D model and not prerendered sprites. However, I asked him to supply the textures, and he did, and therefore it was acceptable. So that's what I'm gonna do for this sheet. I really don't want these to go to waste, since this is a whole lot better than most other 3D rip attempts I've seen submitted here in the past. Are you able to rip the textures for that, Eagallowglass? If not, please collaborate with someone else to get the textures, and put both the textures and the animations on one sheet. Then I'll accept it. Sounds like a deal? RE: World of Warcraft Sheet Critique. - Ekoi - 11-23-2009 The only problem with that is the way WoW does it's equipment textures. Each item equipped has it's own texture file, and even the orc without those things has multiple textures. If he can name off exactly what equipment the orc is wearing in the sheet, it would save me a load of time in searching for their textures. And even if they aren't sprited over directly, they are still good reference material for making one. Suddenly I feel like that was mentioned already, but if it has been, I'll just affirm that. xD RE: World of Warcraft Sheet Critique. - Ekoi - 11-24-2009 Here's a transparent png file of the textures all in one image. RE: World of Warcraft Sheet Critique. - Eagallowglass - 11-24-2009 So you wish for me to add them to the sheets? RE: World of Warcraft Sheet Critique. - Ekoi - 11-24-2009 I'd say that you should merge the two sheets and the textures together into one sheet. If you cannot save transparent png's, I'll be happy to fix the image for you when you're done. RE: World of Warcraft Sheet Critique. - Ultimecia - 11-24-2009 If you ask me, I'd rather have the texture than the pseudo-sheet. But as TomGuycott said, it might be useful for some people. RE: World of Warcraft Sheet Critique. - Vipershark - 11-24-2009 I agree. We've already said that the sheet isn't allowed, so I see no point in combining it with the textures. However, as previously stated, if the color count was reduced and these were reshaded and turned into actual legitimate sprites, they probably WOULD be accepted as they're helpful as pose templates and whatnot. RE: World of Warcraft Sheet Critique. - Ekoi - 11-24-2009 Did you guys miss RTB's last post? He just said that they would be accepted if he also had the textures used for the model on the sheet. Besides, since this isn't a special character there's no point in simply submitting the textures as they're shared among many other models. |
