RE: I hate to do a topic like this - Wes - 10-25-2009 I like either number 2 or 4 the best. Update, finished basic pose: Dammit Bowser, why must your hands be so hard to draw? RE: I hate to do a topic like this - mutantyoshi - 10-25-2009 I think that Bowser's Shell comes up to close to his head/main, try to lower it, and make the main a little longer, also his arm/hand seems two messed up, try to fix those too. RE: I hate to do a topic like this - Kirbyfan - 10-25-2009 The skin and shell color should be more like they are in the BIS sprite, less of the reddish color that you used. And either 3b, or 4b. RE: I hate to do a topic like this - mutantyoshi - 10-25-2009 is this better? RE: I hate to do a topic like this - Kirbyfan - 10-25-2009 I was talking about Bowser. Not Jr. Also, and idea. Back view? RE: I hate to do a topic like this - JoseFran - 10-25-2009 I've edited Ness sprite and done Peach's sprite. I know that I'm not good at doing sprites in this style... What do you think about it? RE: I hate to do a topic like this - Kirbyfan - 10-25-2009 Peach Angle + Face + Hair + Shading = Ness He shill needs to be less based on the original sprite. And the face is really messed up. I want to ask permission first before I do anything, but Wes... Would you be all right with me taking a crack at improving your Bowser? As for Mario. If nobody has noticed, his nose should be further down because his head is tilted downward slightly. If you all insist on making the nose a pixel higher, the hat must to be smaller in order to compensate and maintain proportion. Take your pick. RE: I hate to do a topic like this - Wes - 10-25-2009 Sure, you can fix it. I'll try and fix what you suggested, but I'd like to see what you think it should be. RE: I hate to do a topic like this - CeeY - 10-25-2009 Made an edit to Mario, and the shading on the back of the hat smoother. Along with some minor changes to the overalls, New is on the right. RE: I hate to do a topic like this - Kitsu - 10-25-2009 Kirbyfan sort of brought up a big issue with his Kirby back sprite. What exactly is our policy on characters who aren't symetrical. For example, Samus and Link both have issues with left hand/right hand, not to mention most of the character's poses are not exactly the same when facing different directions. So, when the character is facing the opposite direction, are we just going to flip the sprite? Or do we want to sprite both directions? RE: I hate to do a topic like this - Angelglory - 10-25-2009 I'd say just sprite the character in the direction that best suits them. Example: Marth sprite facing left since if he's sprited facing right he'd have his back to the screen during his idle. Plus, let's be serious, does everyone here want to make two sets of every single sprite for both directions? Hat not so much... But I can compensate for what you're going for and I think it's better. (This includes both versions I have here.) Anyhow, back to the real Mario dispute -- Either of these should work. Majority vote on downward angle (a) or eye level (b)? Aaaand comparison of Pikmin's eyes. Sploder I think all the eyes are fine, and since 'weird' doesn't help me I'm leaving them as is until someone can tell me what exactly is wrong (if anything). The main reason why I edited Mario's hat was to make the shades closer together and smoother. |
