I'm pretty sure Tavis is more important than Goroh. Following your logic, Goroh shouldn't even be in.
Not only that Sonic and Shadow are pretty much the same. Except Shadow can shot lasers.

Goroh is in their to balance things. I wouldn't care if Goroh was in or not if Mother stayed with two characters. But I felt that if Mother was going to have four characters F-Zero needed two. In terms of importance to the company, I don't think F-Zero is far behind Mother. Which made the roster seem incredibly biased.
The problem with people making a roster is that their opinions get in the way. If you want a FAIR roster you need to choose characters on factors and not people's opinions.
Because all people do is flame and bitch and war about who's cooler, what franchise is better. And you know what? No one is right or wrong because those are opinions not facts.
What facts are:
-How long has this game been around?
-How much has it done?
-How successful was it?
-How does the company treat the franchise?
Those are facts, not opinions.
These are opinions:
-How cool is he?
-Can he fight?
-Is he fun?
Those answers may vary from person to person and can be changed easily.

This shows off most of his special moves; it's enough to make a move list off of. Plus I've played and beaten the game multiple times; trust me, there's some pretty cool shit that he does that ISN'T in this video.

I wouldn't worry about a character's moves Arthur. If there's one thing I know its that with a little creativity you can create a very unique and fun moveset for anyone.

In my opinion, Jade deserves it more than Travis Touchdown.
Why?
1. Because she's cool;
2. Because she's bad-ass;
3. Because she has cool moves;
4. Because the game's cool.

Beyond Good and Evil is a really, really obscure game that was multi-plat last gen. It didn't do well sales wise, but was received well reviews.
The game is really obscure, even moreso than Travis. I have no idea if Gary is trolling or not.

Well, Jade IS cool, but I don't think she would fit well. I also think there are too many "human-like" characters, IMO.
