RE: Joxon's Sprite Thread that Lacks A Clever Title - Joxon - 05-13-2015 May as well post this here too. RE: Joxon's Sprite Thread that Lacks A Clever Title - Joxon - 05-14-2015 More Splatoon. GIFS of the idle (first 3 frames) and 360 squid would be appreciated. RE: Joxon's Sprite Thread that Lacks A Clever Title - TheShyGuy - 05-14-2015 You're still spriting through your ipod? Is it possible for you to split each animation into it's own image without any extra stuff- frames only. If you can, I wouldn't mind making a simple program that quickly converts your images to gifs then upload them for you. It's even easier if you can post each frame separately along with time duration per frame (given that each frame can be overlayed ontop eachother and still animate correctly). RE: Joxon's Sprite Thread that Lacks A Clever Title - Joxon - 05-15-2015 Well, my best bet is to just EMail the animations to you. The app has an email feature. (I tried emailing it to myself, but it turned into a PNG when I tried to upload it). It's the only sharing feature of the animations. I'd just need an email and you can save the GIFs, and post em. RE: Joxon's Sprite Thread that Lacks A Clever Title - TheShyGuy - 05-15-2015 Yeah, I can do that. Just use the email button below my avatar. RE: Joxon's Sprite Thread that Lacks A Clever Title - Joxon - 05-15-2015 ... I don't see an email button. And I need your actual email to send to in the app. RE: Joxon's Sprite Thread that Lacks A Clever Title - TheShyGuy - 05-15-2015 Since you're shown as offline, I'm posting to tell you that I pm-ed you the email. _____ You can just email the GIFs since they work fine. RE: Joxon's Sprite Thread that Lacks A Clever Title - Joxon - 05-15-2015 Thanks for doing this ShyGuy. I wish I could do it myself, but my PC sucks online. Well, there's the GIFs. Whatcha guys think? RE: Joxon's Sprite Thread that Lacks A Clever Title - Joxon - 05-15-2015 Inkling Boy. RE: Joxon's Sprite Thread that Lacks A Clever Title - TheShyGuy - 05-15-2015 RE: Joxon's Sprite Thread that Lacks A Clever Title - Joxon - 05-17-2015 I gotta say, not to be cocky, but I've improved more than I thought I have. I'm being honest when I say, thanks to all of you for helping me become a better spriter! RE: Joxon's Sprite Thread that Lacks A Clever Title - Jaharl - 05-17-2015 I have to agree with you, your spriting skills have improved. Then again I think everyone's pixel art skills have improved. RE: Joxon's Sprite Thread that Lacks A Clever Title - Joxon - 05-22-2015 Tried redoing the KSSU Mario a bit. RE: Joxon's Sprite Thread that Lacks A Clever Title - Joxon - 05-22-2015 Little character thing. EDIT: oh, and if anyone wants me to make a character for them, lemme know and I'll give it my best shot. Kinda stuck on ideas... I want new characters to make. RE: Joxon's Sprite Thread that Lacks A Clever Title - TheShyGuy - 05-23-2015 I like the color choices. He's a block, so I'm not sure how much you can do to make the walk/run more interesting. Maybe, you can try playing with squash and stretch? When he lands, you squash. When he jumps, you stretch. Hmm. I noticed that the animation timing is very linear. It kinda ping pongs back and forth without any acceleration. Movements need time to accelerate and decelerate. When you run, all of your body parts don't move at the same speed. So on the extremes (3 and 7), hold those poses longer. The inbetween frames should be shorter since you move through them faster. This is timing and spacing. They're important basics of animation, so practice them a lot. Also, realize that suggestion is a strong tool. You don't have to create *every* possible frame because people will naturally fill in the gaps (This wasn't a problem for you, but I wanted to let you know) Anyways, it's nice to see how much you've improved, keep practicing! |
