RE: Suggestions - Petie - 06-24-2015 That's technically already possible via the revision system. If you notice something that needs work and feel like fixing it, feel free! RE: Suggestions - Sketchasaurus - 06-24-2015 Ah, yeah; I guess I've been hesitant to do so because I didn't want to overstep any boundaries or anything like that. RE: Suggestions - Petie - 06-24-2015 Revisions are queued for approval the same way submissions are and you'll be asked to provide a reason for your changes so it's not as though you will just be arbitrarily editing things on the site. RE: Suggestions - TGE - 07-04-2015 Do you think it's feasible to implement a submission queue when submitting multiple submissions? Right now you have to submit the submission.. wait for it to upload.. (which can take a while if it's a big archive) do the next one etc. Instead you could maybe set up multiple submissions at a time and once you're done setting them all up, it queues the uploads RE: Suggestions - Dazz - 07-04-2015 The issue with that is that the page can time out if it takes too long - if you queue a huge number of files, it'll screw it up. My advice would be to have multiple tabs open of the upload page, fill one in and hit upload, and then go to the next tab. This way it won't timeout, and you can fill a second in while the first is uploading. RE: Suggestions - recme - 07-25-2015 can there be a way to tag someone to a thread? that way, when someone is needed in a thread, they see a message instantly and go there upon entering the site. RE: Suggestions - Petie - 07-26-2015 People can subscribe to threads already. I would never want a way to basically force someone else to be subscribed to a thread automatically. If someone needs to subscribe to a thread that isn't already, you can PM them and ask them to do so. RE: Suggestions - Dazz - 07-26-2015 There's going to likely be a system in place in the new MyBB of notifications, which will tell users when they are mentioned in a thread. Can't promise, but it's something that I know was discussed during development. RE: Suggestions - medusa86 - 07-27-2015 Hi! I don't know if this was already suggested for the Models site, but do think that a embedded OBJ viewer could be implemented? Something like http://www.solidsmack.com/design/a-free-web-based-3d-model-viewer-no-plugins-required/ Thanks! RE: Suggestions - Struggleton! - 07-27-2015 (07-27-2015, 08:15 AM)medusa86 Wrote: Hi! It's a great idea, but I think it might be more effort than what you get out of it... I do appreciate you providing a link to a possible solution though! This has come up before but it's usually just "you should make it so we can view the models on the site" and no suggestion on how to do so. That said, models are submitted as zip files so, to make this work, they'd need to be uncompressed on the server side (since you still need the textures and such - it's not just one file that goes into displaying a model) which isn't a resource or space-efficient process unfortunately. I recall someone saying that zip downloads would get a special icon border sort of like the ones RTB used to do with the old icon system.Bringing this up again, curious if it's potentially happening. I think it's a good idea. RE: Suggestions - Petie - 07-27-2015 Definitely happening. Definitely forgetting two seconds after every time I say it's definitely happening. It does require a bit of editing on the code side but it shouldn't be terribly difficult to do. I just added it to our internal checklist (for the first time... how have I never done this before?) but feel free to keep prodding us until it gets done too. |
