RE: Paper Mario animations - E-Man - 10-16-2016 Okay, Ill be sure to give Spuzzwick your feedback, Captainkakarot64. RE: Paper Mario animations - captainkakarot64 - 10-16-2016 Did Spuzzwick create Fez or something? Peach's straps do look better. Mario's forehead would look better if the lower front part of his hair tufts are changed to a more straight line. This is just an idea but I think it would be fun if you move Mario's hair tufts to the side of his head just like dr. Mario and when Mario's head turns, his hair tufts would animate kinda like Goku's hair. It's too bad you won't be using the new hand, it would probably be handy when Mario is leaning on a table or other objects. RE: Paper Mario animations - E-Man - 10-19-2016 For the record, Spuzzwick's character is not called Fez, but rather the Archduke Fredisand. He's an antagonist in his comic, DKU Comix. Now, I don't know if I got some of your critiques right, but I gave it a shot. RE: Paper Mario animations - captainkakarot64 - 10-20-2016 Thanks for the info, I got confused about Fredisand's origin. I'm glad you kept the new hands. I like the Goomba with wide mouth. You have the right idea with the new hair tufts but it looks inconsistent compared to the other heads. I wasn't talking about the lines from the hair tufts, I meant straighten the line that seperates the forehead and hair... I guess showing a picture is easier than explaining. RE: Paper Mario animations - Hiynastrike - 10-20-2016 also solid work on the dressless neckline RE: Paper Mario animations - E-Man - 10-25-2016 I don't know about the idea of altering the forehead like you demonstrated, Captainkakarot64. I'm willing to do it, but only if everyone else is cool with that idea. RE: Paper Mario animations - captainkakarot64 - 10-25-2016 I remember that in mario & luigi superstar saga the bareheaded mario and luigi sprites have foreheads similiar to my critique and changing the forehead is not extremely important, but more like nitpicking. I prefer the previous collar, it looked more cartoony, the new collar (especially when it's not attached to peach's dress) looks like a moustache and now I can't unsee it Mario's new hair tufts look nice and I think the creases of Peach's dress look a litte bit short. RE: Paper Mario animations - Hiynastrike - 10-26-2016 Try moving the coller more forward, so the back looks like it's resting on the back of he neck RE: Paper Mario animations - E-Man - 10-29-2016 (10-25-2016, 04:25 PM)captainkakarot64 Wrote: I remember that in mario & luigi superstar saga the bareheaded mario and luigi sprites have foreheads similiar to my critique and changing the forehead is not extremely important, but more like nitpicking. I'm pretty sure the foreheads are like that due to graphical limitations. Still, if anybody else like those foreheads, I'll keep them in without question. By the way, I forgot to mention that the two-year anniversary of starting this project was on the 17th of this month! I'd like to give you guys a huge thanks for providing me with so much feedback! My project couldn't have looked this great without it! My project couldn't have looked this great without it! You are not planning to quit with the project are you? Because you sure make it sound like that and I would get pretty disappointed. The new collar doesn't look like a moustache anymore, so that's good but now the collar looks too tight and more pasted on the dress instead of being a part of the dress. I tried to edit the collar myself if you are okay with it. I would make the grey part of the helmet less straight, curve more because the eyebrows of the goomba looks like a part of the helmet. RE: Paper Mario animations - E-Man - 11-01-2016 Oh, no! That wasn't my intention at all! The worst case scenario at this point is that I would probably stop updating this thread (especially since I have three others on three different websites). All I'm saying is that I highly appreciate all the help and support I get from users like you and Hiynastrike. Without your valuable feedback, I would unwittingly leave mistakes every which way and I'll have no good means of catching them otherwise. Also, your overall positivity keeps me generally sane as I continue my work. I hope I don't see any of that changing any time soon, while more users keep leaving valuable feedback for me to chew over. Besides, you and Hiynastrike are why I still keep posting here. RE: Paper Mario animations - Hiynastrike - 11-01-2016 Yeah, You might want to move the coller foward a couple milimeters RE: Paper Mario animations - captainkakarot64 - 11-01-2016 That's a relieve I often see companies/animators thanking the fans to please them but later cancel their projects anyways (the megaman comics from Archie as an example ). I'm happy that I'm helpful. You definitely should push the change further with the left helmet, the helmet in the middle looks good and the right helmet looks worse actually. Maybe the right helmet is going to look better if you push the change a lot further or maybe it would look better if you make that helmet more diagonal like this \ instead of curvy? The moustache on Goompapa's side head is horizontally to short and Goompapa's wrinkle should go past his eye on the side head. I'm not extremely good with hat's but I know the settei/concept art of Ash Ketchum might help you, they sure helped me with my sprites. RE: Paper Mario animations - E-Man - 11-02-2016 Oh, I can now see why you think that (especially since something similar has happened when Insomniac relinquished the rights to Spyro). I'd only cancel this project if nobody really cares about it (which is far from the truth, even on this site), or somebody talks me out of working on it. My Paper Mario animations are my biggest commitment in life right now, so trying to make sure I get everything just right to the best of my ability is essential. If I didn't care about quality, then I would just produce progress head-on with little to no regard to what other people think. It's the reason why I wait between updates and leave certain parts alone. Heck, I even did this for the old art direction, too!
