But yeah, I don't really think it's right to go "oh well Geno was in a Mario game so he's first party" That's like saying that retarded king character from the Zelda CD-i games is a first party character (stupid example but it's valid and the only one I could think of) because he was in a Zelda game. Whether or not Geno starred in a Mario game, he's Square-Enix's character, making him third party.
That being said, I don't think it's fair to have Geno take up Square-Enix's character spot. Personally, I'm not really sure why he's in the roster to begin with. Is he really such a big star, in relation to Nintendo, or video games in general?

He beat Megaman and Sonic. I think he should be an exception.

Geno can't be an exception. If you intend to have a FF rep you'd have two Square characters which wouldn't be fair.
Maybe six is good enough? SEGA, Konami, Capcom, Square, Namco and Treasure?

OMG! This whole conversation is getting so bothersome! It should be six/seven third parties AT THE MOST. All this is accomplishing is bull sh*t. These conversations are the ones that cause other fangames to end. I'm sorry for sounding like a moron, but this is ridiculous. When we can get past the flipping roster, we can actually start working on the damn game.

An AC character is definitely a great idea. It just needs a better name than "Animal Crosser" or "Villager." I've been tossing around a "final" roster for the last day or so (but we all know how that can change) so hopefully I'll be able to show you all my ideas tomorrow.
