Unless someone from tSR wants to do the voice?

RE: Snake codecs? - Kairos - 01-04-2010

I have a friend who can do a decent Snake voice for free.

I'll see if can get him to upload a few lines.

RE: Snake codecs? - D2S-Speed - 01-04-2010

I don't mind trying out for a cameo voice in any of the voice codecs. If no one minds. Shouldn't we have a voice try outs thread or something.

RE: Snake codecs? - TomGuycott - 01-04-2010

Here's a Mewtwo one I've come up with:

SNAKE: Nn.. this thing is really creeping me out. It looks like an alien.
OTACON: You'd better be careful Snake. That's Mewtwo, one of the most powerful Pokemon ever.
SNAKE: His body doesn't look so tough... you sure about that, Otacon?
OTACON: Don't let his appearance deceive you Snake. His body may not seem powerful, but his psychic powers are off the scale.
SNAKE: Not another psychic...
OTACON: That's right, and he's not afraid to use his power. He's one of the most violent, hateful Pokemon in existence. I'd be careful around him, Snake.
SNAKE: ... but why the stupid name, Otacon? Why do they call him Mew "TWO"?
OTACON: Well...
SNAKE: Huh? What's the matter Otacon?
OTACON: ... Mewtwo is called the Genetic Pokemon. It was created in a lab as a clone of one of the most powerful and rare Pokemon, Mew. So far, only Mew's DNA has been confirmed to exist. Nobody has given a clear account of ever meeting Mew face to face.
SNAKE: ...
OTACON: Snake?...
SNAKE: Maybe he's not so hateful... maybe he just feels alone, and doesn't know how to cope with it...
OTACON: Snake...

RE: Snake codecs? - HyperSonic92 - 01-04-2010

Maybe for King K Rool?

SNAKE: Hey Colonel, what's with the giant croc with the crown?
COLONEL: I see you're fighting K Rool. He's the King of the Kremlings and Donkey Kong's archenemy. Kinda like the Bowser to DK's Mario.
SNAKE: Heh, he's a pretty fat one isn't he? And what's up with his eye?! It's bulging out!
COLONEL: Don't let his looks deceive you, Snake. K Rool is a powerful force to be reckoned with. He's utilized with a cannon, a heli-pack, and can toss his crown like a boomerang. He's also been said to be a master of disguise, masquerading as a pirate, a scientist, and a boxer.
SNAKE: Wait a minute, he tosses his CROWN as a boomerang?
COLONEL: K Rool is filled with surprises, Snake. So be on your guard and take him out fast

EDIT: Hey TomGuy I LOVED your Porky codec and this Mewtwo one's pretty cool too.

RE: Snake codecs? - Star - 01-04-2010

I think the hardest voice to find is going to be the Colonel.
: x

Can't wait til the codecs actually get made though.

RE: Snake codecs? - Koopaul - 01-04-2010

We don't need voices really.

RE: Snake codecs? - TomGuycott - 01-04-2010

What we really need is a "Adults in Charlie Brown" mode, where all the Codec speech is just a horn.

RE: Snake codecs? - D2S-Speed - 01-05-2010

The voice of the colonel is also Max Teneson from Ben 10 hahaha!

How SNES Starfox style voices? It's a similar idea, and it draws from something in a video game. The use of such an idea would also free you guys to make new codec for previous characters as well.

Of course, it would also somewhat remove from the MGS aspect of the codecs, and could distract a lot from the game play as well...

RE: Snake codecs? - Cshad - 01-07-2010

We could just have blips for charaters talking, we dont really need to have voices

RE: Snake codecs? - D2S-Speed - 01-07-2010

That would just save us a lot of time from voice acting and such.

RE: Snake codecs? - Ton - 01-07-2010

Or just the codex sound, then the respective character saying "Snake..." and then the text just shows up.

RE: Snake codecs? - Chaoxys - 01-07-2010

Well, provided we can't find anyone to do the voice, I'm fine with that, but it seems like more of a pain to have to try and read it while fighting.

RE: Snake codecs? - PerfectPhoenix - 09-22-2010

Well, I'm sort of new to this, but if you're talking codecs, then I can make up a lot in a short time. Can someone tell me who hasn't been made yet?
