I like the Gorons. Sure they may not be the most swift (including upstairs >.> ), but they are pretty much hard to kill, can roll, and have great physical strength.
I couldn't help laughing after you finish the second dungeon in Ocarina of Time and all the Gorons try to bear hug Young Link. =D
Oh yeah. Gorons can dance too. Play Saria's Song to Darunia in Ocarina of Time.

I personally like the Zora, and later, the Rito, specifically because of their grace (not social ones...) and their ability to "fly" (for Zora, through the water; for Rito, through the air).
