boy do i have news for you

also for me: viewtiful joe 2

other than the chambers, there was no unlockables after beating the game, sadly because the game required you to play as 2 chars.

Bionic Commando is probably the only game I brought hoping it would be good and it turned out to be extremely love/hate. Sure I only paid £4 for it, but still...

RE: Games that disappoint - Ultimecia - 04-04-2010

I've been disappointed with all Final Fantasy games released after FFX. From FFX-2's super-GIRL-POWA-J-Pop-Pajama-Party, FFXI being online, FFXII being look-mom-I-can-has-online-type-gameplay! and so on. The only good surprises were Crisis Core, Dissidia, Ring of Fates and (to an extend) Crystal Bearers. You can ditch all the rest.

Also, pretty much all Sonic games after Adventure 2. Except for the Advances, but they would be better without the bazillion of useless friends.

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within was also disappointing. From the Persian setting to a dark-rock-emo one? And they also changed the voice of the Prince. What the Hell?
Devil May Cry 2 and Devil May Cry anime (not a game, but related) looked like they brainwashed Dante and turned him into a complete idiot without personality. The characters were also annoying and hard to sympathize.
All Tomb Raider games after the 4th are all pretty shit too, all well Blood Omen 2.

And...Hmmm...I guess I'm done bashing for now

I agree with Ultimecia, except I include FFX in with it.

I haven't played FF13 or FF11 so I can't really comment on those, but FF9 was the last great final Fantasy game.

In response to the original post, you definitely aren't the only one disappointed with Brawl. It disappointed me, and although I definitely set my expectations too high (many did), I think they screwed up quite a bit. It's still really fun with friends at least (when one certain friend doesn't spam Olimar's smash attacks like they're going out of style), but I'll talk about what disappointed me.

The roster was flat-out terrible compared to Melee. It had more characters, yeah, but there was an incredible amount of new series in Melee compared to Brawl. Just as well, only two of Melee's eleven unlockables were old characters, while nine of Brawl's fourteen unlockables were old (did not include Snake + Sonic who were revealed before release).

The physics, while closer to SSB64 (my favorite SSB), were way too damn floaty, and hitstun is almost non-existent here. Still, I liked the physics in Brawl more than Melee's at least.

Sum up of any and every other complaints
-Roster is pretty lackluster (No new Metroid or F-Zero reps, plus Wolf and Toon Link, no thank you.)
-Stickers sucked (Only usable in Single Player? Missed out on a real awesome thing for Multi Player.)
-SSE sucked (Long, boring, and also, what the hell is a "Tabuu"?)
-Wario is the only one with an alternate costume (No Doctor's garb for Mario? Horse crap.)
-Physics are better, but still imperfect (SSB64 had the best, I'll never back down from that.)

Brawl was bad enough to make me start my little SSB project, along with a passing comment from a friend telling me to stop whining about Brawl and make my own SSB. >_>; As I said above, I still love playing it when friends are here (although that's become a rare moment considering the things going on around here), but damned if it wasn't a disappointment.

Sorry for getting so centered around Brawl. I've got a few other games.

GTA IV: Radically different from previous GTAs, like Vice City and San Andreas. Took itself way too seriously. No miniguns, no jetpacks, really bland. Still, it was a fun game, and I loved the multiplayer as well.

Mother 3: Really depressing compared to EarthBound, but was awesome nonetheless.

Conker, Live and Reloaded: This was a terrible remake of the original Bad Fur Day. Censored even more than the original game was (game was originally known as Live and Uncut), but the worst part was that the original multiplayer minigames were removed (No Heist, no War, all gone) for some crappy little class based Conker-themed multiplayer sidegame. Glad I rented it.

Metroid Prime 3, if only because of the final boss.

I wanted Dark Samus turn back into Metroid Prime Cry

RE: Games that disappoint - Jovian-12 - 04-04-2010

Star Fox Assault.

SF64 was one of my childhood joys and one of my first videogame obsessions.

why did they feel the need to add 3rd person shooter elements?! Sad all I want is the Arwing...

RE: Games that disappoint - DioShiba - 04-04-2010

Batman Arkham Asylum to be honest, got boring once you beaten the whole game, sure it was great and and all and had some pretty nice thrillers, but the game itself was pretty linear, the enemies don't re-spawn (because some how knocking them unconscious will make them permanently dead) and the boss fights could have been better.

I honestly disagree, while sure it could have been better in some places it was fun none the less.
Get episodes from liberty city, that should be good remedy, if you were that disappointed with the game.

Although I was disappointed with GTAIV, like Brawl, I still had fun with it. I should've noted that, sorry. .-.

I did get Episodes from Liberty City a while ago, and really enjoyed it. Reminded me a little more of the older times. ^^

KOFXII was a complete letdown. both for the massive lack of characters and that i personally found that, compared to SF3, the artwork of the game was ugly. hopwfully KOFXIII is suposed to fix that(mai tits)

and major disapointment was downloading a demo of a game about killing zombies with a car from steam and found it was nearly imposible to actually drive the car.

and PS2's sonic's unleashed was a disgrace.

By the time 7th generation consoles came a majority of the games that were being shat out on the PS2 were a disgrace compared to when it first came out.

I sorta agree, although I liked the dynamic jobsystem (I refuse calling it Dresssphere Blank) FFX-2 had, it was a neat idea, but everything else was just meh.
FFXII, on the other hand, was complete bullshit, just set up some gambits and let the game play alone.. FUN! not really

Also, Shadow of the Colossus, I got it because a lot of people said its the best thing ever since sliced bread, but I got bored of it REALLY fast.
Sure, it still is a pretty game, and fighting the Colossi is somewhat fun, but everything inbetween is just soooo booooring, I can't believe people could stick through it till the end.
