in real life, i imagine pokemon wouldnt be restircted to only 4 moves V_V
for example my combusken would have blaze kick, slash, sky uppercut, and double kick. thats fine and dandy and everything but it still has a beak and it would be retarded if it could not use peck just because "doesnt know how to" or whatever absurd excuse there could be

I see it more as learning a move to make it 'combat effective'. It forgets the best way to use it in going for the weak points or what have you.

And a voltorb. So if someone messes with me I'd be all here hold my pokeball for me, then watch him get exploded upon. And then quickly rush voltorb to the pokecenter.

I'd have an Ampharos, a Charizard, and a Totodile that walked around everywhere with me, did everything with me, and fought in battles with me. I'd be one of those weird, mysterious trainers who wouldn't be seen much irl, and I'd also have a cave all to myself somewhere!

Id also have a dunsparce. And had it headbutt trees so i can find an exxecutor. So i can have one of those. And a ledian that knew subtiture and focus punch, with a mr mime to use light screen and reflect so the substitue will stay for like, two seconds minimum.

I'd have two mareeps and I'd be hugging them all day long because I'm too much of a wimp to go and adventure myself on pokemon journeys and stuff :C
but then someday one of those two evolves into a big ampharos and I'd ride him to all places c:
and he'd also shine to comfy me in the darkest nights, when all lights are out due to a problem on the power plant!
Eventually I'd catch a Poliwhirl and my parents would buy me a Vulpix for my birthday. I'd have a pool just for my Poliwhirl!
