Ladder
Bombs
Items that aren't required but are definitely helpful:
Candle
Bow and Arrows
So now we need the fastest way to get all of those, back to level 5, then to the flute.

and i was going to try to do this this weeked but i'm sick and i just woke up(its like 10PM) and my head is about to explode and i just realised i'm late for a date for like 8 hours.

well, for CV3 you can use either english or japanese versions depending on your preference

The Darknuts are what ate up the most of my time. I actually went out of my way to get a better sword because it cut the hits it took to kill them in half, but even then, I spent about 3 minutes alone on the darknuts. Also, the best ways to get the bomb drops are blue octorocks, blue moblins and the gibdos, not that anyone would really benefit from that info now that the challenge is pretty much over soon, but just sayin'.

blue octoroks were being stubborn dicks so i ended up buying the bombs. :I
it was really just too hard without the sword upgrade

i got the sword upgrade, bombs, and a few other things in about 9 minutes. but i ran out of bombs before i got to the 5th dungeon.

All I did was take the fastest route possible to the 5th temple, but on the way I purposely tried to get bombs, and when I did, I got two hidden hearts and ran for the white sword, which was only one screen out of the way from the temple itself. When I got that, I just ran through the temple and laser-sworded the Darknuts. I can't tell you how many tries it took for me to even get past the first room of Darknuts. I only got to the second room twice, and the second time was acceptable. xD
