RE: OMFGSONIC4ISAWESOMEEEEEEE - JackMan - 07-23-2010

Sonic Adventure 3 was the pre-beta name for Unleashed.
Or World Adventure, some crap like that.

But then again
Unleashed failed
So... yeah.
And, as much as I want there to be a Sonic Adventure 3, what would the story be?
I can't think of anything (Anything not absurd) that they haven't already done with Robotnik.
And if there's gonna be an Adventure 3, I want the main villian to be Robotnik.
Lately he's been the pawn in the real bad guy's games.

i played the demo on a store.

it was godawful horrible. then saw your videos, other people's comments, and well.

it looked good

back in 2005

I thought this same thing until I played the complete FINAL game.
I played the demo and it sucked.
Everybody said it sucked.

Then I played it, because I wanted to see for myself just how bad it really is. Yes, a lot of the entertainment that I get from it is laughing at how bad it is and forcing myself to go through maddeningly annoying levels. But that still doesn't mean that with the proper time given to it, it wouldn't have been a good or even great game.

I've said this many times before, so I'll keep it short: The level design, graphics, and music are all there. Those are the game's highest points. If the games worst points were brought up to the same level as its best points, it would be at least on par with the two adventure games.

And yes, the graphics did look great back in 2006.

RE: OMFGSONIC4ISAWESOMEEEEEEE - Alpha Six - 07-24-2010

vs, the graphics are decent at best, but the level design is complete trash and the soundtrack is really awful

correction, it was sonic world adventure, even that would not have been related to the older games.

Basically, Sonic and the Black Knight makes beat'em ups feel like platformer games. You can beat a few levels with just holding forward, closing your eyes and masturbating your Wii Remote furiously whenever you hear Sonic take damage.

I wasn't saying that the level designs in it were terrible, and didn't hamper the game at all. It's just that there could been so much more done with it than just making a huge linear path way that all you do is run, jump and killing enemies while ruing so damn fast. for fucks sake sega could have just put in the classic controller at least to make up for the lousy wiimote control. These two factors just made it so straight forward you probably didn't even need to look at the screen the whole time in order to do it.

Um, hello, have you actually played the whole game?

There are quite some branching paths in Secret Rings, and even some exploration on it, or haven't you tried finding every Fire Ring in every stage? The only bad thing are the controls, which are kind of straight-forward, and Dinossaur Jungle, which was a shitty level.

Now, Black Knight throws the amazing artstyle and environments, great story, good dialogues, and good level-design away for what? Just better controlling at Sonic's basic 8-way movement. The controls aren't as linear as Secret Rings, but the gameplay feels the fucking most linear Sonic game ever.

correction, sonic world adventure is sonic unleashed's japanese title

RE: OMFGSONIC4ISAWESOMEEEEEEE - JackMan - 07-24-2010

Read it wrong, meh. I was close. So, did Unleashed suck for you guys?

RE: OMFGSONIC4ISAWESOMEEEEEEE - Vipershark - 07-25-2010

the 360 version is decent, but apparently the wiiS2 version sucks

RE: OMFGSONIC4ISAWESOMEEEEEEE - GrooveMan.exe - 07-25-2010

The Wii Version was a Score/Time Attack game in nature; taking on far fewer of the exploration and RPG elements of the 360 version.

Which works just fine for me, TBH. makes it closer to the handheld games (I played the Time Attacks for Sonic Advance and for Rush so much)

First off, yes I have gotten every ring just to even get to the final boss, which honest to god was ridiculous since almost over half of the missions in the game were mind fuckingly insane.

While even though there were a few branching paths, they were nearly impossible to even get to with the control scheme. Like I said, they could have done much more then just make some bloody levels that have little to none secrets, which even if you try to get to you'll have a hard time trying. Also gonna add the experience point system was total bullshit seeing for me it just made the game harder as sonic's speed just increases to the point where the controls are completely arsed by that time.

RE: OMFGSONIC4ISAWESOMEEEEEEE - Maxpphire - 07-25-2010

For me Heros wasn't that Bad.

But then again I got my enjoyment over my niece finding new ways to fall off the side of levels and dieing.
Also gonna add that Sonic 06 is pretty much terrible and sonic ceased being good after the 3rd game for the sega genesis. (Sonic and Knuckles)

RE: OMFGSONIC4ISAWESOMEEEEEEE - Vipershark - 07-25-2010

I believe you mean SA2B is the last good sonic game. (Not counting the handhelds, at least.)

RE: OMFGSONIC4ISAWESOMEEEEEEE - Maxpphire - 07-25-2010

Nope sorry. Sonic and Knuckles is the last good sonic game that came out.

I mean there were a few good ones but not as great and amazing as the original 3.

RE: OMFGSONIC4ISAWESOMEEEEEEE - DioShiba - 07-26-2010

whats with the hate on heroes?

that was at least a decent sonic game.

the team mechanic was literally pointless due to bad level design-- you only have to use the other formations in areas where it says "use this formation", and when you DO use it, you don't have to use it again for the rest of the level

it's a neat gimmick that was poorly executed

no it isnt, though it could be

this is another post i've been making for forever, alongside the sonic 06 one
tyvon pretty much summed it up, though

Heroes is a great idea on paper, but it's executed so badly that it just made the game straight out awful.
Not to mention that it has arguably more bugs than S06, all of which are infinitely more annoying.

Actually, Heroes and 06 are like two sides of the same coin.

06 is "so bad it's good", while heroes is "so bad it's awful".
