Well wering a good-looking pair of glasses makes you look a lot sharper.

A sleek rectangular pair, maybe. Half-rims or even rimless!

oh hey this is me

I bought some shirts Power Ranger theme tee's the other day and I went to Quizno's and like 3 people asked me where I got it. I told em at the local mall, but they don't have Red Rangers one anymore just Green, and some jerk out of no where tells me how he has the whole set and then starts talking to all these girls who want to know where they can get their hands on it.

It's like geek is the new jock, or guy with the car Spanish fly now, and it's pissing me off.

The one thing I like about the whole geek chic trend is that I can theoretically wear videogame and cartoon-related shirts and stuff every day and have it be seen as normal.

Because we all know we'd be getting weird looks wearing a power rangers shirt normally.

Speaking of which, I saw a couple of power ranger shirts that I want and they were really cool.

oh and um BACK TO AN OLD TOPIC
chad was saying something about wearing clothes a couple sizes too big
this is actually normal practice for me since i'm weirdly proportioned (tall but not fat) meaning that clothes that fit me lengthwise are often waaaaaaay too baggy, yet clothes that fit my profile are often too short.

I wear tall tees and stuff to offset this since they always work and I can get a lot of use out of them before they get too small.

RE: I'm not JarJar - Maxpphire - 07-25-2010

I remember when I was 6 years old I was the yellow ranger for Halloween. I hated the color pink when I was little and thus liked the color yellow instead. Then I was Pikachu when I was 11 (The one with a pikaface foam hat thingy and not the mask since back then there wasn't a mask)

I also used to watch Speed racer when I was 4.

I also hate the geek/nerd trend thats been happening. I remember when I was a freshman in highschool I was kinda an outcast for wearing my animu/videogames/silly/japan related gear (mostly shirts but my backpacks were mainly anime. Fucking loved my laughing man messenger bag.). When I was a senior I had shit tones of people complementing me on these same shirts and asking them were I got them. This is how these convos went for the most part.

"omg I totally love your shirt!"
"Thanks." ~goes back to doing whatever~
~Doesn't leave~ "Where did you get it?"
"The store"
"what store?"
"An internet store"
"Whats the link"
~shrugs~
"Oh come on!!!!! We can be buddies~"
"I've been wearing these shirts for the past few years and you used to make fun of me for liking "japan porn" as you put it and now you want some of these "japan porn" t-shirts? Let me invite you to shove a 10 foot rusted metal poll up your ass then. Good day." ~Walks off~

RE: I'm not JarJar - JarJar - 07-26-2010

new age fashion is kinda shitty imo

expression is no fun when everyone expresses the same shit.

RE: I'm not JarJar - Rakia - 07-26-2010

I'm different than everybody else! You can tell by my hairstyle, glasses and shirt!
This is my friend, he is also different! He looks like my twin because every where we go had a two for one sale!

Has anyone actually been told that because

i actually have to agree wit hatter on this one. you guys hate geek chic for all the wrong reasons. you think people are trying to be different and then you turn to make fun of them for it because they obviously arent, but in reality, no one is actually like that AT ALL. its just another fashion trend let it be. i think your all getting butt hurt because they are trying to like step on your geek territory or some shit. maybe instead of crying about it on an internet forum, you should shape up and take advantage of he fact that they are trying to look like a more fashionable you and get some pussy (princess peach doesnt count).

RE: I'm not JarJar - GrooveMan.exe - 07-26-2010

Who's getting mad at geek fashion?

It's only a problem when they don't look good in it.

RE: I'm not JarJar - Maxpphire - 07-26-2010

Well what bothered me about it was the fact that it was the same people making fun of me for the same shirts they wanted to get only a year or two ago. Then all of a sudden they like my shirts? I dunno I think thats pretty much bullshit right there.

Me as a kid: Ugh, I don't like onions, they're pretty gross. Stop serving me them, I'm not gonna eat them!
Mum: Well, ok then.

Me as an adult: Oh, actually onions are pretty good in some food.
Mum: OH BUT YOU SAID YOU DIDN'T LIKE THEM BEFORE THAT'S SOME KINDA BULLSHIT
YOU MAD, NATHAN? YOU MAD?????

And then she beat me. Cry

RE: I'm not JarJar - GrooveMan.exe - 07-26-2010

Basically what I'm saying is that people change in tastes when they age; and now you're lucky enough to have them share an interest in something you like.

Stop being a whiny babby

RE: I'm not JarJar - Maxpphire - 07-26-2010

But they didn't even know anything about what I was wearing.

To those who have gone up to me and said "I like that show, the one thats on your shirt" ~talks about the show with me happy happy joy joy~

I don't mind those people. The convo eventually leads me to tell them how I got said shirt.

But the people who know nothing of the show, made fun of me for liking the show as calling it "japan porn" or whatever, then weeks later ask me where I can get said shirt, those people kinda piss me off a bit.
