RE: It's that bearded fellow! - Chris2Balls [:B] - 09-12-2010 i found that the body looked flat so i whipped this up. RE: It's that bearded fellow! - DadNier - 09-12-2010 the body should be thicker, it seems too small and thin compared to the arms and head RE: Comrade Atari - Nindo - 10-06-2010 (08-31-2010, 04:20 PM)Nindo Wrote:So I figured out why I got bored and couldn't finish this It's because it is boring and not worth finishing this way. So this is what I did today: Still a WIP, especially the colors as I just used the previous palette as a placeholder and I'm working through that (as is evident in a few parts). Just wanted to get some thoughts from you folks. RE: Comrade Atari - Chris2Balls [:B] - 10-06-2010 everything's a bit wonky, but it looks ok overall! RE: Comrade Atari - Nindo - 10-10-2010 I slow RE: Comrade Atari - Chris2Balls [:B] - 10-10-2010 the mouth doesn't seem aligned with mouth, face seems split into two different angles, you may noticed i've changed a shade which seems too dark! RE: Comrade Atari - Nindo - 10-10-2010 Not too keen on the major over-haul of his mouth (made him look like he was chewing), but I did take your edit into mind with this newest edit. I'm also pretty particular to that blue I've been using for complimenting black shading, but maybe I'll change it later on? For now I kept it. I thought the face shading could do with more contrast so I added a third skin color. RE: Comrade Atari - Nindo - 10-16-2010 Shirt shading is kicking my butt, which seems better? or RE: Comrade Atari - Iceman404 - 10-16-2010 Is the symbol on his head supposed to be an "M"? RE: Comrade Atari - Nindo - 10-16-2010 Well I originally thought I'd have it as the Atari Emblem, Comrade's name being "Comrade Atari". However, now that I think about it, I'd like to avoid using copyrighted names, heh. So I'm just going with "Comrade" and I tried adopting the way Chris rendered it. RE: Comrade Atari - Vipershark - 10-17-2010 that shirt is extremely pillow shaded RE: Comrade Atari - StarSock64 - 10-17-2010 Yeah, it seems like you have it in your mind that you have to shade around all your outlines but you really don't. Your lightsources aren't making any sense here, the hat seems to suggest top left but then the hand suggests otherwise and the face and shirt are pillowshaded. The mouth is also really jagged, I'd add another shade to the white and use the skin shades to smooth it out. I might try to make an example to show you but I wouldn't count on it with how I'm feeling right now~ Oh look I did it after all. I did it pretty quick, but I hope it gives you an idea. I was going to redo the arm but I'm pretty confused about what it's supposed to be doing. The hand is sort of a blob and the arm lacks joints. RE: Comrade Atari - Nindo - 10-17-2010 Oh shoot, I was going to say I had made some tweaks but DAT EDIT gave me some ideas RE: Comrade Atari - Nindo - 10-17-2010 "What the heck are arms?" -Me, 2010 By the way, the ""pose"" he is doing is the beginning of a bowing motion because I'm covering for the fact that I had no idea what I was doing with the arm that's what I intended to do to begin with. RE: Comrade Atari - Vipershark - 10-18-2010 his arms are very anatomically incorrect. His forearms appear to be like three times as long as his <whatever not forearms are called> and that's more like his arm bends like a wet noodle than pivoting at a joint. |
