This makes the animation too smooth and, as a direct result, too slow. See, to make it more forceful, you need to get from the standing position to the feet being kicked out in the fastest way possible. The meat spikes hinder the motion since it slows the kick. Jumping from frame 1 to frame 3 will definitely give it a much more forceful animation (which is what you should aim for).
