Steam for PC games and Game for everything else. The website, not the stores; The stores are always full of fat people and screaming children so I don't go there anymore. Not to mention the moronic employees.

I go check out the game selection ever time I deposit a check and get some cash.
My usual "route" for buying games is...

1. Target
They've got great clearances, and chances are if there's a good game on clearance, it'll be a steal. There also may be other (new) games for cheap, but I generally don't buy new games that much anymore until they go down in cost so I don't buy from Target much anymore.

2. Gamestop
I only buy GBA, 360, PS2, and Gamecube games from gamestop anymore, and that's only when they're used and generally under $14.99 or so. Sometimes I'll buy a used game for a little more, but it really depends on the game.
I NEVER buy new games from Gamestop unless they're pre-ordered or come from behind the desk still shrink-wrapped, because all of the games on the shelves that are labeled have been taken out of the boxes and stuff.

3. Play-N-Trade (rarely)
Basically the same deal as gamestop, but PnT has games for everything back to atari, and generally better prices.
I don't pre-order or buy new from PnT.

4. Wal-Mart (rarely)
Wal-Mart usually has absolutely terrible prices on their games that take years to get to reasonable levels, but sometimes you can find a hidden gem here or there. Since all the wal-marts in my area are around 30 or more minutes away, I don't go to them often.

5. Internet
The best selection, the best prices (if you know where to look), and if you're in the right places, everything is really high-quality and is taken care of well.

Practically what this man said. With the exception of K-Mart and the occasional Best Buy (since Play and Trade doesn't exist where I live).

I'd go to K-Mart because every time I go to one they have ridiculously low prices on good stuff, but the ONLY K-Mart I know of in my area is around 40 minutes away, not counting traffic.

tbh that's much too far of a drive unless I specifically know of a deal that's going on there, like the Just Cause 2 deal (which I missed because of work Sad)

As for best buy, I rarely go to them anymore but sometimes you can get good deals there.

Same with Toys R Us.

Glyde.com is cool, because you get reasonable prices, and the person selling gets more than 5$ of it back. That's a better market than Gamestop. Give them like 10$ of the worth, and sell it for higher prices than anyone.

They get away with it here, because all the other game places closed.

Gamestation 4 life.
Well, GS or the internet anyway.

Don't like GAME. Plus i'm banned because i was working for Gamestation in my town and they asked me to go note down GAME's prices so they could make sure all theirs were still lower.
GAME employees saw me and told me i was banned.

>FUCKING GAME

Pretty sure Gamestop still does.

Also glyde.com is gay because it doesn't support Opera

but
but they're owned by the same company
why would this happen
I much prefer Gamestation actly, the one in my town is staffed by a much nicer bunch than Game for some reason, everyone I've known who worked in Game with very few exceptions were massive dicks.

RE: Where do you get your games? - Cell Shaded Envy - 09-28-2010

Usually GameStop or Play N' Trade. I've been going to Play N' Trade more often now, though, I just preorder games from Gamestop if I get crap with 'em when they come out.

RE: Where do you get your games? - drakion - 09-30-2010

Gamestop or Target, doesn't matter.
