holy fuck that was awesome.

this is certainly an improvement to Pacman CE, though I wish there were ghosts that don't always follow you around when they wake up.

That was really awesome looking. The bullet time thing was neat and whatever that bomb thing that you could kill ghosts in front of you with seemed really neat as well. After playing Pacman CE and enjoying it, I'm already fairly sure I'll be buying this game too iat some point.

The huge tail of ghosts behind Pacman reminds me somewhat of of the game Snake and even more closely of Zombies mode in the Call of Duty games when you're leading a horde around behind you.

the gamecube is powerful as fuck, relatively speaking

it can definitely handle a pacman game

as opposed to the nintendo 64 and any console before, which cannot handle pac-man at all.

Alright so what I said about the wii being a piece of shit was retarded I'll admit that.

Still, I don't think that they'll put CEDX on the wii, I mean how many devs have given up on the wii when it comes to good games. (counting out nintendo and sega)

wow those ghosts have the most uninteresting AI ever conceived

i mean the original pac-man had fucking books written about the AI and these just follow you around?

sorry to go off-topic for a bit, but that reminds me of sonic!!

Sonic 1 had really amazing programming and graphics and etc for the time being. I saw on an interview that even the rotating maze was like WOW HOLY SHIT for the time being, few people thought that the smooth, precise rotation like that this could be done using Genesis' hardware, imagine how hard should be to program all the physics based on momentum then. Imagine how hard should be to get the pseudo-3D special stages on Sonic CD, Sonic 2 and Sonic 3. On Genesis hardware.

Then Sonic 4, almost 20 years later, comes up with technically worse and simpler physics.

But I guess on Pac-Man's case, it's probably just how it works on a couple of modes, where you have to "line up" the ghosts to eat them, thing that would be very hard to do if they split up to try to corner you like they did on the original game. I don't think that they would come up with worse AI than the original, but I think they might not improve them either.

It looked to me that that only applied to the sleeping ghosts.

There were a couple of times when there were ghosts with actual AI following Pacman around.
It happened usually when the power pellets ran out. The red ghost, at the very least, was definitely on the screen a couple of times. I think the blue and orange ghosts were onscreen for a few seconds as well, but it appeared that they got absorbed into the line as it passed through them.

I like the new bomb system and time meter for power pellets.

The only thing I don't like about CE is how there's no "original" mode that's level based. Everything is "eat the fruit on one side to overwrite the other side".

Has that been confirmed? That doesn't sound like a smart move.

The original CE didn't have such a mode either, as I recall. But after all, the original Pac-Man's also available for download for a mere $5.

not sure about that being really... "pro"

sonic 2's special "fake 3d" stages are quite easy for the most part, background wise(considering how they are built). sonic 3's are just ballz being upscaled just like afterburner's and those old zpectrum/commodore demos.

most genesis games could perform that, problem is most genesis devs were for the most part lazy idiots.

The original didn't, and as far as the screenshots that have been released so far show, this game follows that same formula.

I just played it and I'm fairly sure there isn't a way to change it to be like the original Pacman, even in Free mode interestingly enough. It would have been neat to have, but I can say I care too much since its still really fun to play the way it is.

A 10 from IGN, holy shit.

so a video game magazine sponsored by video game companies gives it a high score to a video game.
