Also
Mole Mania, Kaeru no tame ni wa naru(?), Pokemon, Wario Land, Gargoyle's Quest, and all the GB games with "Final Fantasy" and "Kirby" in thier names have great music.

actually you're right. the game i was referencing was Trouble Shooter and its Sequel (trouble shooter Vintage).
Both amazingly solid and obscure shoot em ups by Vic Tokai for the Genesis.
