RE: Things games should have, but don't - Gollum - 02-16-2011 I'd like to say dinosaurs, but there are more than enough and I know it. That's a relief, I could've sworn all I saw at the store in the Wii section recently was shovelware... That's a pretty ignorant thing to say. As for all those games you guys mentioned, I don't play fighting or beat'em up games. So I guess I'm ignorant too. But keep in mind I'm referring to female Mooks. Grunt enemies, meaning they have as much importance as Slime. Not mini-bosses, bosses, or any character relevant to the plot. And I don't count female zombies, because anyone can be a zombie. RE: Things games should have, but don't - Cobalt Blue - 02-17-2011 i'm pretty sure Halo features both female and male soldiers on the human side. and starcraft has female grunts as well.(in the form of medics and ghosts) warcraft 3 has female units also. RE: Things games should have, but don't - Shadowth117 - 02-17-2011 I'm just joking around. But seriously, the vast majority of the games coming out on the Wii are pretty bad. While a lot of Nintendo's first party stuff has been alright, recently it just hasn't interested me the way it did in the past to be perfectly honest. Don't try to say its nostalgia because I've gone back and played a lot of the older Nintendo games and I still like them. Their recent titles just haven't been doing it for me. Still, I won't deny that I haven't seen much better come out for the 360 or PS3 in the past year or so either. Its just that for me personally I've had a lot more to look forward to on those systems. I mean forgive me if I find say Vanquish to be more interesting than the new Donkey Kong Country. Not saying there's anything wrong with anyone for liking Wii games in general more than PS3/360 games and that's great if you do enjoy them a lot. I just personally don't have much interest in any of the games I've been hearing about lately for the system and I've been a little dissapointed with the ones I did have interest in. While it wasn't the first game to bother me like that, Other M pretty much put the nail in the coffin for me on that. Edit: Only the newest Halo really had a fair amount of female characters with the option to be male or female in multiplayer. There probably a 1 to 6 ratio of female marines to regular marines in the campaign as well. As for the rest of the games, Halo 3 did a copout by only giving an option to change the gender of your character's voice although the female voice actor certainly wasn't the best. Any other female in the series was always a signifcant character. RE: Things games should have, but don't - Negative-Zer0 - 02-17-2011 A fighting game that doesn't have shitty online. Meh, that still doesn't change the fact that a majority of fighting games today have shitty online and only focuses on Japan's net infrastructure. My wish is that new fighting games, ESPECIALLY CAPCOM'S STUBBORN ASSES, would take into account that input delay is not the netcode that should be normal. HDR/MvC2/BBCS.CT and probably other obscure fighting games you never heard about does not out weigh the rest of the genre, which is notorious for bad netcode, or at least every new release. P.S. I won''t count GGPO since 99% of those people didn't actually pay the company for those games. Rollback>Input delay. RE: Things games should have, but don't - Shadowth117 - 02-19-2011 While I'm sure there's a whole bunch of differences between the genres, I find it funny that I can have a lagless game of Halo with a total of 16 people playing at once and I can play say Soul Calibur IV which can only have 2 people fighting at once with at least half second delays on my input. It isn't always that bad, but SOMETHING is clearly not working right here if an almost certainly more complex system with significantly more people lags less than a simpler system with only 2. RE: Things games should have, but don't - Alpha Six - 02-19-2011 Um, fighting games are WAY more complicated than Halo. RE: Things games should have, but don't - Koopaul - 02-19-2011 I don't know about that. Halo has large environments with vehicles, teleporters and more. Not to mention a ton of people playing at the same time. |
